Black Myth: Wukong - How To Find & Beat Cloudtreading Deer

As a seasoned adventurer who has scaled the heights of Mount Huogao and faced its formidable denizens, I can attest that the hunt for Sun Wukong’s Mythical Armor is no mere walk in the park. One such challenge lies within the enigmatic Deer Sight Forest, where the elusive Cloudtreading Deer reigns supreme.

The whole of Mount Huogao is filled with bosses such as Poison Chiefs that, when defeated, drop crafting materials needed to craft or upgrade armor. As players want to acquire the best endgame armor to be ready for the difficult challenges, they must acquire the Mythical Armor, which is accessible through specific boss fights.

To obtain pieces of Sun Wukong’s Armor, players need to vanquish four significant adversaries within the Foothills. One of these adversaries is the Chief Yaoguai known as the Cloudtreading Deer, who resides near the Deer Sight Forest in the sixth chapter of Black Myth: Wukong.

How To Find Cloudtreading Deer

From the Verdant Path Keeper’s Shrine, players must first head to the Golden Rhino Boss arena. From the Rhino Watch Slope Keeper’s Shrine, mount your Somersault Cloud and ride towards the red trees in the distance. As you approach these trees, you will find the Deer Sight Forest Keeper’s Shrine. Interact with the Shrine and head past it towards the giant tree to trigger a cutscene for the boss fight with the Cloudtreading Deer.

How To Beat Cloudtreading Deer In Black Myth: Wukong

1st, gather Curios and Pills that boost your Resistance to Calmness and Poison. When the battle initiates, use your abilities to inflict minor damage on the boss, aiming to reduce its health to about 70%. At this point, a storm begins. The boss throws you back and creates whirlwinds all around itself. These whirlwinds move towards you, becoming obstacles you must dodge to approach the boss. Additionally, the boss often stays near these whirlwinds or makes them spin, making combat in their vicinity extremely difficult. Ideally, you should lure the boss out of the whirlwind zone for the best scenario.

Whenever your supervisor leaps upward, prepare to glance skyward because after several jumps, they will land heavily where you are, generating a sense of Chill.

The camera can sometimes become wobbly, but keeping it locked on the boss is best.

Phase 2

Once the second stage begins, the boss recovers its health and is coated in a layer of blood. Most of the boss’s attacks will splatter blood across the floor beneath you. It’s crucial that you stay clear of this blood, as it triggers the Poison Bane effect, dealing continuous damage. The phase commences with the boss emitting a loud roar and launching blobs of blood into the air. These blobs subsequently contract and transform into projectiles that head straight for you. Your goal should be to concentrate and evade these, as they too can inflict Poison.

Standing close to your leader during both stages allows you to inflict damage, causing them to lash out with both legs, pushing you away. Resist the urge to launch numerous attacks or complete your light attack sequence as you’ll often be cut off. Keep in mind the boss’s front leg stomp attack that lands on a pool of blood, dealing significant damage and forcing you to stay in the blood for an extended duration.
