As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Black Myth: Wukong has truly taken me on an exhilarating journey, and the quest to obtain Sun Wukong’s Jingubang Staff has been no exception! The game’s freedom in weapon selection is a breath of fresh air, but nothing beats the thrill of wielding the legendary staff itself.
In the game Black Myth: Wukong, players enjoy the liberty to personally select their own weapons, armors, magical abilities, and transformations. They have the option to create and customize weapons to aid them on their adventure.
In this game, there are numerous weapons to select from, leaving one pondering which is the top choice. The solution lies with Sun Wukong’s weapon, but players need to accomplish specific missions first before they can obtain the Jingubang for themselves. This guide outlines all the requirements that gamers of Black Myth: Wukong must fulfill in order to acquire Sun Wukong’s weapon.
How To Get Jingubang Staff In Black Myth: Wukong
Players Must Defeat Four Powerful Foes
As a gamer venturing through the mystical realm of this game, I can’t lay my hands on the Jingubang Staff before I’ve vanquished four formidable foes lurking atop Mount Huaguo. Here are the bosses I must defeat to claim this powerful artifact:
- Gold Armored Rhino
- Cloudtreading Deer
- Feng-Tail General
- Emerald-Armed Mantis
Each of these four bosses presents a unique challenge, ensuring that players can’t breeze through the battles. Instead, they must adapt their tactics for each encounter.
As a daring gamer, here’s my strategy for taking down the Gold Armored Rhino: I’ll be aiming to smash its armor-plated horn with a powerful strike from my weapon. If that doesn’t work, I might summon a Spirit ally like the Wandering Wight, whose attack could potentially break it too. Once the horn is shattered, I’ll continue to assault until it grows back anew, then I’ll repeat the process all over again!
1. The Cloudtreading Deer can be tricky to defeat, unlike the Gold Armored Rhino, but it lacks a similar special skill. Master its attack patterns to bring it down. On the other hand, the Feng-Tail General is considered a ‘gimmick boss’, meaning you’ll need substantial health and stamina to overcome it. If you find yourself struggling, consider switching up your curios or improving your health for a better chance of victory.
To engage in the battle against the Emerald-Armed Mantis, you must first defeat the three bosses. Once they’ve been defeated, make your way to the tree adorned with golden leaves. Advance slightly, and a cutscene will unfold. Following the cutscene, players will then confront the Emerald-Armed Mantis in combat.
Beating all four bosses will allow players to get all
pieces of Sun Wukong’s armor

To find the Jingubang Staff, players need to get on the Somersault Cloud and follow these steps:
- Keep ascending until the tree with golden leaves (found near the Emerald-Armed Mantis fight) is below you. Start moving in this direction, but keep to the left.
- As you reach this area, make sure there is another tree with golden leaves.
- Carefully look around, and you should find the path leading to the waterfall.
- Drop-down and keep running till you’re at the edge. From here, jump and follow the path.
- Ultimately, players will find a massive staff stuck in the ground. Approach it to trigger a cutscene.
- Once it is over, players will get the Jingubang Staff, which is arguably the best weapon in the game.
