Black Myth: Wukong Xbox Version Rated by ESRB

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation at the prospect of Black Myth: Wukong gracing the Xbox Series XS. This game has been setting the world on fire since its release in 2024, breaking sales records left and right. If you haven’t played it yet, let me tell you, it’s not just another pretty face – it’s a masterpiece that deserves a spot in every gamer’s library.

It’s possible that the popular game Black Myth: Wukong could be making its way to Xbox Series XS in the near future. This speculation arises from a recent rating issued by the ESRB, North America’s rating board, for an Xbox version of the game. Although it’s a small hint, the ESRB is often reliable when it comes to such announcements.

As a game enthusiast, I gotta mention that none of the European PEGI ratings have been assigned to the Xbox edition of Black Myth: Wukong just yet.

Big Numbers, Again

2024 saw Black Myth: Wukong as one of its top-selling games. Just a short time after its release, it was confirmed that over 20 million copies were sold. Notably, by September, the game had amassed more than $1 billion in gross revenue on Steam, all by itself.

The game was launched on August 20, and within three days, it had reached a global sale of 10 million units. A significant portion of these sales took place in China, as the game originated from there.

In a recent ESRB rating update for Black Myth: Wukong, ‘Xbox Series’ has been added alongside PlayStation 5 and PC, implying that the game may soon be available on the Xbox platform. Previously, there had been much speculation as to why Game Science, the developer, hadn’t launched the game on Xbox, with various theories ranging from compatibility issues to potential exclusivity arrangements being discussed.

Back in June, Microsoft’s team had been hinting at the potential arrival of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox. At that time, it seemed like only a matter of waiting, and it may not be much longer before we get official news about its release.
