Black Myth Xbox Delay Caused by Series S Issues, CEO Says

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that the ongoing saga of Black Myth Wukong has left me both amused and frustrated. The game, which promises to be a visually stunning masterpiece, has been teasing us for years now, only to face one obstacle after another.

The latest hurdle in its path is none other than the Xbox Series S, a console that seems to have swallowed Black Myth Wukong whole, leaving it stranded in the digital realm. The optimization issues on this underpowered juggernaut are proving to be a thorny issue, one that Game Science’s CEO, Yocar-Feng ji, has admitted is beyond their current capabilities without several years of dedicated work.

I can’t help but chuckle at the irony here. A game so ambitious, so breathtakingly beautiful, being held back by a console that, in comparison, looks like it was built by someone who mistook Lego for actual hardware components. But hey, who am I to judge? After all, I’ve spent countless hours wrestling with the likes of the Atari 2600 and the infamous Commodore 64.

I guess we’ll just have to wait a bit longer for Black Myth Wukong to grace our screens. In the meantime, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it won’t get stuck in development limbo like a certain game about a plumber with a penchant for mushrooms… You know, the one where the levels are called World 1-1, World 2-1, and so on. Talk about optimization issues!

The CEO and founder of Game Science has announced that the release of Black Myth Wukong on Xbox was delayed because of optimization challenges with the Xbox Series S console.

As a gaming enthusiast, I stumbled upon some intriguing tidbits over at r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. It seems that Yocar-Feng ji, head honcho of Game Science, shared his thoughts about the Steam Awards 2024 on the popular Chinese social media platform Weibo. He admitted to feeling a tad emotional after scooping up three awards!

Additionally, he shed some light on the technical hiccups that prevented Black Myth Wukong from launching on Xbox due to Series S optimization difficulties. Fascinating stuff, don’t you think?

Feng-Ji pointed out that, as of 2024, Black Myth Wukong lacks an Xbox version, and this is due to a requirement called “10G of shared memory,” which isn’t easily achievable on the Series S without significant optimization experience spanning several years.

It’s not surprising that Black Myth: Wukong’s delay on Xbox was due to problems with memory on the Series S, as such concerns were first raised last year in reports. Initially, a Microsoft representative denied this issue, saying the game wasn’t delayed because of limitations on the Xbox platform. However, the CEO has now confirmed that the optimization challenges faced with the Series S led to the game not being released on that platform.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement over Kanye West’s recent declaration that The Last of Us Part II is the greatest game ever crafted!
