Black Ops 6 Launch Was The Biggest in Call of Duty History

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the news about Black Ops 6 shattering records is music to my ears! Ever since I was a kid playing Call of Duty on my old Xbox, this franchise has always been a staple in my gaming library. The fact that it’s now available on Game Pass on day one is a game-changer, making it more accessible than ever before for gamers like me.

During a recent earnings call, Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, announced that Black Ops 6 had set a new record as the largest launch for Call of Duty to date. This announcement was made shortly after the game’s release.

For the very first time, a Call of Duty game, specifically Black Ops 6, debuted on Game Pass concurrently with its release, marking a significant triumph for Xbox. As mentioned by Nadella, this launch even set a record for the highest number of new Game Pass subscribers added at once.

Big Numbers

Speaking during the Microsoft call, Satya Nadella said:

The debut of Black Ops 6 last week marked the largest release in the history of Call of Duty, shattering records by attracting the highest number of day-one players and adding a significant number of new Game Pass subscribers on its launch day.

Additionally, sales of units on PlayStation and Steam increased more than 60% compared to the previous year. This growth underscores our approach of making it easier for gamers to access a wider variety of games on the devices they frequently use.

Ever since its release, Black Ops 6 has been growing steadily in popularity. We gave it a high rating when we first reviewed it, encouraging Call of Duty enthusiasts everywhere to give this fantastic game a try. Whether you’re captivated by the campaign, the Zombies mode, or the multiplayer experience, or simply excited about what’s yet to come, investing your time and energy into it will surely be rewarding.

Starting November 14th, the initial season of the game launches, bringing the first content update along with other exciting elements. Meanwhile, on November 1st, Nuketown is making a comeback in Call of Duty, as Treyarch has meticulously remastered the original map that debuted in Black Ops back in 2010.
