Black Ops 6 PC system requirements explained – File size, minimum & recommended specs

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of system requirements for AAA games. But when it comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, I must say, Activision has done a fantastic job making it accessible for a wide range of PC gamers!

On October 25, the latest instalment of Call of Duty: Black Oops (BO6) arrives for both PC and consoles. But before you dive into the action, let’s ensure your system is up to the task. Here are the essential details about BO6’s system specifications.

Among the scant AAA titles coming out in 2024 for Xbox One and PS4, BO6 stands out as one of them. This is great news for those still using last-generation consoles, but it offers an extra advantage for PC gamers: since the game was designed for last-gen systems, it should not require significant resources to run on a PC.

As a devoted Call of Duty enthusiast, I can’t stress enough the importance of prioritizing Frames Per Second (FPS) in my gaming experience outside of the campaign. A lower system requirement means a smoother gameplay for me, which is always preferable when immersed in the intense world of Call of Duty.

BO6 storage requirements

To play Black Ops 6 at its launch, you’ll need a minimum of 149GB of free storage space. But if you’ve got Warzone or COD HQ already installed, the additional space needed will be approximately 78GB instead.

The main platform for playing Call of Duty games, such as Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone, is known as COD HQ. So, if you’ve already got these games installed, the download size for Black Ops 6 will be relatively smaller.

How do Black Ops 6 PC specs compare?

As a gaming enthusiast, if my rig could handle Modern Warfare 3 flawlessly, I’m golden! The good news is, as I type this, the official system requirements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 mirror those of its predecessor, making it potentially playable on my current setup.

Compared to other significant launches in 2024, they aren’t particularly demanding. Many other AAA games have transitioned from previous-generation consoles, but Battlefield 6 is still coming out for Xbox One and PS4, making it compatible with slightly older gaming systems.

To compare, you’ll need at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6GB) to run Star Wars Outlaws, but Black Ops 6 only needs a GTX 960 (2GB) or GTX 1560 (4GB). On top of that, Star Wars Outlaws, which is current-gen only, requires 16GB of RAM while BO6 only needs 8GB.
