Black Ops 6 won’t feature hated Cold War Scorestreak system

As a dedicated Call of Duty gamer with years of experience under my belt, I am thrilled to hear that Black Ops 6 is returning to a more traditional Scorestreak system, where streaks reset after every life instead of carrying over like in Black Ops Cold War.

In Call of Duty multiplayer, being constantly bombarded with Streak-spam can be quite aggravating. However, Black Ops 6 aims to address this issue by reverting back to a more conventional Scorestreak reward system.

In Black Ops Cold War, your score would carry over after respawning. However, this is not the case in Black Ops 6 as Scorestreaks do not loop in the present version. These adjustments aim to “give players rewards for each life” and “reduce excessive use of Scorestreaks.”

In Black Ops 6’s multiplayer mode, players cannot continuously build up and use score streak rewards indefinitely as their streaks will restart upon death. Instead, the game follows a conventional scoring structure where your earned rewards are lost when you die.

In BO6 multiplayer, players can earn Scorestreak rewards solely by excelling in an individual life. The developers aim to decrease the frequency of these rewards being used together in a single match, as excessive Scorestreak usage can be irritating for opponents and is not a preferred gameplay experience according to the developers.

Additionally, many players expressed their displeasure with this new feature in the comments section of CharlieIntel’s X-post about the Scorestreak update, indicating a widespread dissatisfaction among the gaming community.

Supporters shared their views, with one commenting, “Honestly, I dislike being confronted with streak spamming; I’m relieved that Black Ops 6 won’t feature this.” Another concurred, “I appreciate this change. The abundance of killstreaks in the sky can be irritating. At times, it seems as though gun proficiency is overshadowed.”

Some commenters expressed their fondness for the new change, arguing that the previous per-life Scorestreak system felt more gratifying to them. On the other hand, others were dissatisfied with the change, viewing the non-looping Scorestreaks as monotonous and a discouragement for skilled players.

During the beta testing phase, which you can gain early access to by Pre-ordering, players will have a chance to try out the familiar loadout and Scorestreak setup. Additionally, we’ll get to explore the innovative Omnidirectional movement system, which the developers have confirmed cannot be turned on or off.
