Blade Chimera pre-orders are now open for Nintendo Switch

As the launch date for Blade Chimera draws near, Playism and Team Ladybug have jointly declared that Switch pre-orders are now available.

Initially, only PC pre-orders were possible, but now, the Switch version can also be pre-ordered with a special offer for those who own previous games by Team Ladybug, such as IB. This offer comes with a 20% discount. However, there are some conditions. If you preorder the game before January 15, 2025, you’ll get a 10% discount. Additionally, if you already own digital versions of other Team Ladybug titles on the Nintendo Switch (Touhou Luna Nights, Record of Lodoss War -Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth-, and/or DRAINUS), you’ll be eligible for an even larger 20% discount. Please note that this offer does not apply to physical copies.

The story unfolds when an unexpected surge of sinister, spectral beings emerged. People found themselves battling specters like ghouls and spirits during what eventually became known as the “Demonic Conflict.” The world underwent a transformation that would be lasting.

Three decades have passed since I honed my skills against demonic forces, and now I find myself leading a resilient band of survivors within a modest yet secure sanctuary. This fortified haven is established by an organization known as the “Holy Union,” whose faith-driven purpose mirrors my own.

In Blade Chimera, you assume the role of Shin, a demon hunter who can’t recall his past, and forge an unconventional alliance with Lux, a stunning demon capable of transforming into a blade and controlling time. Embark on a journey to discover your own history and that of your cherished ones, engage in fierce battles against formidable demons, traverse a treacherous and perilous realm, and reclaim what was previously yours.

In the game Blade Chimera, the map is expansive compared to any previous Team Ladybug title, offering more explorable regions than ever before. With an abundance of side missions to tackle alongside the main storyline, players have ample opportunity to delve deep into the futuristic setting of Blade Chimera for extended periods.

Here’s a list of the key features from the press release:

  • As the Demon Sword, Lux offers a wide array of utilities. She can perform powerful attacks and shield you from harm, but also act as a platform and even restore objects that were once lost. Use your demonic companion to traverse and survive in a desolate, demon-ridden Osaka.
  • As Shin defeats demons and levels up, new skills can be unlocked via skill tree. Unlock the “Warp” skill to travel anywhere on the map or a double-jump to get up to higher ledges and explore new locations with ease.
  • Lux isn’t the only weapon in your arsenal. In addition to his main firearm, Shin can wield other weapons such as greatswords and whips. Experiment with a variety of armaments and create your own style of combat.

Blade Chimera is coming to PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch, on January 16th.
