BLAST R6 Major Montreal Win Secured by w7m In Effortless Grand Final

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say, the BLAST R6 Major Montreal has been a rollercoaster of emotions, especially for w7m Esports. After their heartbreaking loss at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh just weeks prior, it was a sweet victory to see them come back and claim the title against BDS.

The BLAST R6 Major Montreal tournament has concluded, and ultimately, Brazil’s w7m Esports wrote a triumphant comeback story. They faced off against BDS in the Canadian finals, just weeks after being defeated by their EU counterparts at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh in the final series.

Excitedly speaking, as the game unfolded, it seemed like luck was on our side with w7m Esports gaining significant momentum against Team BDS, albeit starting off with a loss in the first map. However, we managed to win three consecutive maps, one after another, without much resistance.

Brazil Wins Big

2021 has been a rollercoaster ride for w7m Esports. They clinched victory at the Six Invitational in Sao Paulo back in February, only to disband their entire team shortly afterward and start anew. In August, they reached the runner-up position at the Esports World Cup, earning a substantial $350,000 despite being edged out by Team BDS during the final match.

For w7m Esports, their recent victory served both as a sweet revenge tale and a testament to their remarkable success. In May of last year, they clinched their triumph in Copenhagen, and just over a year ago, in November, it was the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta that fell into the capable hands of the Brazilian team.

Over the weekend, as many anticipated, the BLAST R6 Major in Montreal unfolded according to plan. Team BDS put up a strong fight, eliminating both Team Secret and FaZe Clan on their way to the grand final. Meanwhile, w7m overcame Spacestation and defeated Virtus.pro to secure their chance at the championship title.

The last match in the tournament was an intense one.

In the thrilling kickoff of the Consulate map, I found myself rooting for Team BDS, who were aggressively chasing an early victory. However, w7m swiftly countered with a strategic response on Nighthaven, earning a rebuttal point. From that moment, it seemed like smooth sailing for the Brazilian team. The ensuing games on Clubhouse and Kafe were efficiently dominated by them, with minimal opposition offering much resistance.

The stunning set pieces put out by w7m’s DoDez earned him MVP of the grand final.

2024 marks the conclusion of Rainbow Six Siege’s competitive calendar. Following this, the Six Invitational 2025 will take place in Boston during February.
