Bleach: Rebirth of Souls Roster Prediction

Highlights

  • Bleach is finally getting a full console game after years of mobile Gacha games. Rebirth of Souls will focus on fighting gameplay.
  • The confirmed roster includes popular characters like Ichigo, Rukia, Aizen, and Ulquiorra. Various unique abilities will be featured.
  • The game will adapt up to the Arrancar Saga, with characters like Zaraki, Soi Fon, and Mayuri making it to the base roster. A DLC option may follow.

As someone who’s spent countless hours immersed in the world of Bleach, I can confidently say that this proposed roster for Rebirth of Souls is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s like a symphony orchestrated by the master Kubo himself, each character carefully chosen to represent the essence of their respective factions and fighting styles.

After over ten years, Bleach is finally getting a full-fledged console game. TamSoft Corporation is developing Rebirth of Souls, seeking to bring Bleach into the fighting game genre once again. The last game was Soul Resurreccion for the PlayStation 3, and it was a hack-and-slash, Warriors-style game. For years, Bleach only had mobile Gacha games to its name, but that all changes now with Rebirth of Souls.

In a nutshell, the game titled “Rebirth of Souls” is an action-packed fighting game set in a three-dimensional world. It bears resemblance to popular games like Tekken and Soul Calibur, but it’s more akin to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series or Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles. The creators have confirmed that the game will only adapt up to the Arrancar Saga, which means characters from the Lost Agent and Thousand-Year Blood War arcs won’t be part of the initial roster.

Team Karakura

The Fighters From the World of the Living

Initially, the core members of Team Karakura are Ichigo Kurosaki, Uryuu Ishida, Yasutora “Chad” Sado, and Yoruichi Shihouin. However, it remains uncertain whether Orihime Inoue will be a playable character, as her abilities seem more geared towards support rather than combat, making her possible inclusion less likely.

Kisuke Urahara is a surefire choice given his significant role and fighting capabilities that make him suitable for play. Regarding Ichigo’s alternate forms, it’s common in anime fighting games to have multiple character versions as separate options. This approach could be used to introduce Ichigo’s Hueco Mundo self with the Hollow Mask, his Vasto Lorde transformation, as well as Dangai Ichigo with Mugetsu as his Awakening move.

A new character confirmed is White Zangetsu. He was spotted towards the end of one of the initial trailers. Given that White Zangetsu has been a playable character in previous games, it’s logical to assume he will be playable again, particularly since “The Blade is Me” became popular after its animation.

The Gotei 13

Soul Reaper Captains and Lieutenants

To date, we have confirmed characters like Rukia Kuchiki, Byakuya Kuchiki, and Renji Abarai, with trailers already revealed for two of them. It’s a given that Toushirou Hitsugaya will be featured, as he’s been present in every game so far. Shunsui Kyoraku, a highly popular captain known for his unique abilities, is also expected to join the roster due to his upcoming prominence in the anime. Lastly, Zaraki Kenpachi, the embodiment of intense, brutal fights, is an obvious choice for this fighting game given his suitability for such games.

1. Soi Fon appears to have a strong likelihood of being included. Her close-combat fighting style is tailor-made for a rushdown-style fighter in this game, making her a natural fit.

Regarding the Vizored, it’s highly likely that Shinji Hirako will be the sole member to secure a spot in the main team. Shinji is not only the most admired member among fans but also boasts the greatest power. Devising a Sakanade adaptation suitable for a fighting game could prove challenging for developers, yet if executed properly, Shinji could become another distinctive character.

The Espada and The Three Traitors

The Iconic White-clad Villains

It’s almost certain that Sousuke Aizen will be included in any Bleach game, given that the main antagonist is typically part of the playable roster. Similarly, Aizen’s associates, Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen, are also expected to feature in the game. If included, Gin Ichimaru‘s speed and the wide reach of his Shinsō technique could make him a formidable top-tier character. On the other hand, Kaname Tosen‘s immense power during Hollowfication, coupled with his abilities to alter perceptions, would likely make him a tough opponent in the game, as he was in the original story.

Regarding the Espada, the choice is quite clear. Ulquiorra Cifer and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez are undeniably the most recognized members and iconic characters from Bleach, making their inclusion a given. Coyote Starrk would embody the zoner role similar to Uryuu Ishida, but with a unique twist as Los Lobos not only shoots from afar but is also renowned for its blinding speed.

To round things up, the game could look like this:

Team Karakura:

  • Ichigo Kurosaki (Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, Dangai)
  • Yasutora “Chad” Sado
  • Uryuu Ishida
  • Kisuke Urahara
  • Yoruichi Shihouin
  • White Zangetsu

Gotei 13:

  • Byakuya Kuchiki
  • Rukia Kuchiki
  • Renji Abarai
  • Genryuusai Shigekuni Yamamoto
  • Zaraki Kenpachi
  • Soi Fon
  • Toushirou Hitsugaya
  • Shunsui Kyoraku
  • Mayuri Kurotsuchi
  • Shinji Hirako

The Espada:

  • Sousuke Aizen
  • Gin Ichimaru
  • Kaname Tosen
  • Ulquiorra Cifer
  • Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez
  • Coyote Starrk
  • Tier Harribel
  • Nelliel Tu Odelschwank

As someone who has been following the Bleach series since its anime debut back in 2004, I must say that the upcoming game “Rebirth of Souls” is shaping up to be a fantastic return to console gaming for Bleach. The roster, from what we’ve seen so far, seems well-balanced and provides good representation of the three main factions, as well as offering character variety in terms of gameplay diversity. It looks like they’ve taken their time to ensure that fans will be satisfied with this release, leaving potential DLC characters for later down the line. I can’t wait to get my hands on it and relive the excitement of the Bleach universe once again!
