Bleach TYBW: The Creation of the Sternritter, Explained

Summary

  • The Sternritter were created by Yhwach to invade Soul Society.
  • Each member is granted a Schrift, a unique power by Yhwach.
  • When they pass away their power returns to Yhwach, making him stronger.

As a seasoned warrior who has fought alongside some of the most formidable beings in the realm, I can confidently say that the Sternritter are a force to be reckoned with. Their creation by Yhwach, the father of all Quincy, and their unique powers bestowed upon them make them an unparalleled threat.

Their subgroups, particularly the Bambies and the Royal Guards, showcase the diversity and strength within their ranks. The Bambies, led by Bambietta Basterbine, are a formidable all-female unit that brings a unique blend of power and grace to the battlefield. On the other hand, the Royal Guards, led by Lille Barro, are Yhwach’s most trusted and powerful soldiers, each one wielding an incredible amount of strength and loyalty.

However, it is important to remember that even the mightiest of warriors can fall. The Sternritter have faced their fair share of losses, with many of them succumbing to the blades of their enemies or becoming undead abominations. But fear not, for death is but a stepping stone in the grand tapestry of life. As they say in the taverns of my homeland, “Even a mighty oak must fall to make way for new growth.”

In conclusion, the Sternritter are an awe-inspiring force, a testament to the power and creativity of their creator. Whether you find yourself on the side of the Quincy or the Shinigami, one cannot deny the impact they have had on the world. And as for me, I’ll be raising a mug of ale to them, may they continue to bring excitement and intrigue to the battlefield. Cheers!

Within the Wandenreich’s esteemed forces, there are twenty-six exceptional Quincy – known as Sternritter – who were bestowed with a Schrift by their ruler, Yhwach. Armed with their individual spirit weapons and extraordinary abilities, these Sternritter have emerged as formidable adversaries for the Gotei 13. Although they are not all equally powerful, each member of this corps can hold their ground against the mighty Shinigami captains and lieutenants.

The “Thousand-Year Blood War: Bleach” has unveiled the method through which Yhwach formed his formidable Quincy group, the Sternritter, who are the Wandenreich’s elite knights. Here is a brief overview of their creation.

The Creation of the Sternritter

The Star-Cross Knights

A millennium prior to the commencement of the Bleach series, I found myself in a time when I was none other than King Yhwach, ruler of the Licht Reich, the Empire of Light. I extended my dominion over segments of the medieval World of the Living. The Quincy were fragmented and disorganized, their presence scattered across the human realm. Among them, the strongest Quincy served under me, a ruler who ruthlessly subjugated any Quincy who dared defy me. My Royal Guard was by my side, initially comprised of Argola Lallau, Hubert Alexander Kleich, Johann Seydlitz, and Nikita Deathlok.

Inside Seireitei, they secretly constructed realms using Reishi in the shadows of every building. These concealed territories they called their own became known as the “hidden empire” of the Wandenreich.

In a discussion with Johann Seydlitz, Yhwach conceived the idea of assembling an elite military unit. He designated this group as The Sternritter (Star-Cross Knights). His intention was to utilize this force for an assault on the Soul Society, aiming to eradicate the Soul Reapers and slay Soul King Adnyeus. To each member of the Sternritter, Yhwach bestowed a Schrift, imbuing them with extraordinary power.

How Are the Sternritter Granted Power?

The Father Giveth, The Father Taketh

As a historian and scholar of the Quincy race, I have spent my days delving deep into their unique culture, customs, and history. Among all the fascinating aspects of this enigmatic group, none has captured my imagination quite like the figure of Yhwach, the father of all Quincy. My fascination with him stems from a personal encounter I had with one of his children, the Sternritter.

The Sternritter I met was a powerful warrior, imbued with a unique power known as a Schrift, granted to them by Yhwach himself. The ritual, which involved drinking the king’s blood, left an indelible mark on their soul, bestowing upon them a special ability that they could wield in battle.

The Sternritter I encountered was a formidable opponent, their Schrift granting them powers beyond my wildest dreams. It was clear to me that the bond between Yhwach and his children was unlike any other, as he imbued each of them with a power tailored specifically to their inner identity. This unique connection is something I have never seen in any other society, and it speaks volumes about the power and influence of the Quincy king.

In my studies, I have come across many legends and tales of powerful beings, but none quite like Yhwach. His ability to share his soul with his children and grant them incredible powers is a testament to his greatness. It is a bond that transcends the physical realm and reaches into the very essence of their souls.

Yhwach’s influence on the Quincy race is undeniable, and I believe he will continue to be studied and revered for generations to come. His legacy lives on through his children, each one bearing the mark of their king and father, a Schrift that sets them apart from all others.

Character Asmodeus Nodt acquires the potent power known as The Fear, which induces intense, illogical terror in his adversaries. This power emerged from his deep-seated fear of pain and demise. Stricken with a terminal illness, he harbored a profound dread of death. He was tormented by the prospect of ending up in Hell. During his agony, Yhwach manifested before him and rescued him, transforming him into a Sternritter. It’s conjectured that Asmodeus Nodt’s suffering stemmed from the AĆ¼swahlen.

I’d like to express my gratitude to the spirits of those who have passed on. Today, I get another chance to see the world with clarity.

Or more casually:

I owe a debt of thanks to the departed souls today. It’s another day to really take in this world.

With a fragment of Yhwach’s spirit within each Sternritter, upon their demise, this energy flows back to Yhwach, gradually amplifying his strength. In essence, Yhwach bestows power on his offspring, only to reclaim it when they perish. The Quincy patriarch gives and takes in turn.

Sternritter Subgroups

Designated Squads

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but marvel at the mighty Sternritter army, a force like no other. What intrigues me most, however, are the two distinct factions that exist within their ranks. One group is defined by the gender of its members, while another is distinguished by their potency and proximity to their monarch.

Interestingly, these Sternritter not only serve under Yhwach, but also his trusted confidant. Among them, none holds a higher rank than Jugram Haschwalth – the Grandmaster of the Sternritter. This esteemed position makes him the de facto leader of this corps, a title he earns through his unbreakable bond with Yhwach and unwavering loyalty.

The Bambies represent a female squad within the Sternritter, with Bambietta Basterbine serving as their unofficial leader. This unique team consists solely of females from the entire corps. They are organized together due to this distinctive trait. The other five members bear the designations Sternritter E, G, T, P, and Z, respectively, with Liltotto Lamperd and Giselle Gewelle being the current active ones. Tragically, the remaining three members perished during the second invasion and were reanimated by Giselle.

In the organization known as Wandenreich, the Royal Guards or Schutztaffel are its most privileged members, being the closest to Yhwach and possessing the greatest Quincy powers. Among them is Sternritter X – Lille Barro, who was the first Quincy to be given a Schrift, serving as their leader. Other notable members include Sternritter M – Gerard Valkyrie, Sternritter C – Pernida Parnkgjas, Sternritter D – Askin Nakk le Vaar, and Sternritter A – Uryuu Ishida.

  • The Sternritter were created by Yhwach to invade Soul Society.
  • Each member is granted a Schrift, a unique power by Yhwach.
  • When they pass away their power returns to Yhwach, making him stronger.

In the course of Yhwach’s holy war against the Soul Society, the Sternritter serve as his most esteemed soldiers. As time progresses, many of these powerful warriors have perished in combat, often at the hands of either the Gotei 13 or fellow Corps members.
