Their role is to train Ichigo in harnessing his Hollow abilities, eventually joining him in the fight against Aizen and the Espada.

As a gamer immersed in the Bleach universe, I’ve come to realize that some of our teammates were once commanders of the Gotei 13, which means they carry an innate strength that sets them apart. Among these powerhouses, Shinji Hirako, Kensei Muguruma, and Rojuro “Rose” Otoribashi stand out as the three most potent forces. But I can’t help but wonder: who among them truly wears the crown of Bleach’s masked team’s absolute strongest?

Kensei Muguruma, The Brawler

Fists of Steel, Powerful Resolve

Originally, Kensei served as the captain of Squad 9, but he was forced into exile. After returning from his exile, Kensei is now once again leading Squad 9. Unfortunately, his lieutenant, Kaname Tosen, turned against him and colluded with Sousuke Aizen. Following the fight against Aizen and his Espada, Kensei regained his position as captain of Squad 9. Now he’s joined by Shuhei Hisagi and his Vizored partner, Mashiro Kuna, who serve as his lieutenants.

Kensei wields the Zanpakutou named Tachikaze. Tachikaze’s Shikai manifests as a combat knife that Kensei holds in one hand. Tachikaze’s Shikai ability is the manipulation of wind in the form of wind blades that Kensei uses to swiftly eliminate powerful Hollows. His second ability is Bakudantsuki. Kensei charges a reiryouku ball on Tachikaze, which he launches as a powerful energy blast strong enough to kill a Gillian-class Hollow in one blow.

In a simplified and conversational manner: Kensei’s special move is called Tekken Tachikaze. When he activates this move, his arms are covered in steel armor. This ability primarily excels in close-quarter fights. Each punch from Kensei creates small but powerful explosions upon impact. Despite being incredibly destructive due to Kensei’s physical strength, it has limited adaptability in combat situations.

In the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, Kensei’s crucial yet heartbreaking battle was against Sternritter S-Mask de Masculine, alongside Rose. Kensei managed to defeat Mask with his Bankai. However, Mask’s Superstar ability enabled him to resurrect and grow even stronger. Despite the fact that Kensei’s power could have defeated many other Sternritters, tragically, Mask possessed a hacking ability.

Rojuro “Rose” Otoribashi, The Musician

Presently, Rojuro holds the position of captain for Squad 3, taking over after Gin Ichimaru’s act of treachery. His second-in-command is Izuru Kira. Rojuro is an unusual character, characterized by his melancholic demeanor and artistic leanings; he complements Kira well. Unlike Kensei, who excels in straightforward combat, Rojuro’s skills are more elaborate and theatrical.

In simpler terms, Rose’s weapon is called Kinshara. It transforms into a long, yellow, flower-tipped whip, reflecting his musical abilities as a musician. He can use Arpeggio to wrap up enemies with his whip, mimicking piano playing gestures. The music notes that appear during the attack symbolize the enemy being crushed by Kinshara. With his ability, Kinshara Sokyouku Dai Ichiba – Izayoi Bara, Rose connects the tip of Kinshara to his opponent and, by touching the blade, he generates a sound wave that travels through the whip, resulting in a powerful shockwave at the end that causes a massive explosion.

In simpler terms, Rose’s special move is called Kinshara Butoudan. This move summons a group of yellow humanoid figures and transforms the blade into a conducting baton. When Rojuro plays music with it, enemies who can hear it will experience an illusory harm that affects them physically. However, if the enemy is deaf or unable to hear, this effect does not work.

Additionally, Rojuro encountered Mask of Masculinity, whose peculiar powers managed to puncture his eardrums and elude the influence of Kinshara Butoudan. These odd talents of Mask were a perfect match for both Kensei and Rose’s abilities.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: I, being the head of Visored and captain of Squad 5, bear the burden of a past tainted by Sousuke Aizen’s treachery one hundred years ago. I was undeniably among those deeply wounded by his plots. Currently, my lieutenant is Momo Hinamori, who also suffered at the hands of Aizen. Our shared history as victims of Soul Society’s traitor has forged a unique bond between us, one that allows us to heal and grow stronger together.

Shinji’s weapon-transformed form, called Sakanade, possesses a unique capability named Sakasame no Sekai. By rotating Sakanade around his hand in a circular motion, Shinji disrupts the victim’s senses, causing up and down, forward and backward, left and right to be perceived as reversed. This disorientation extends to their vision and hearing, making them nearly defenseless. Enemies find themselves unable to communicate clearly, and images they perceive become distorted and unrecognizable. Shinji himself refers to this ability as a powerful trump card, as resisting it is extremely challenging. However, it has been defeated by two individuals – Sternritter E, Bambietta Basterbine, who managed to bombard Shinji with explosives (fortunately for Shinji, the bombs missed their mark), and Aizen, who was able to adapt to the perception distortion. It is noteworthy that Shinji’s ability shares similarities with Aizen’s Kyouka Suigetsu, as they both manipulate the victim’s perception.

In the realm of Bleach, Shinji’s ultimate technique, Sakashima Yokoshima Happofusagari, doesn’t merely manipulate his adversaries’ senses, but delves into their very minds. Employed against a horde of enemies, they would lose the ability to distinguish allies from foes, leading them to engage in destructive combat among themselves until there are no survivors left. Such is the devastating power of Sakashim Yokoshima Happofusagari that it was once deemed too dangerous and forbidden. In the Can’t Fear Your Own World series, Shinji was prohibited from wielding this Bankai due to its potential to harm allies as well. However, the new captain commander, Shunsui Kyoraku, overturned this restriction, permitting Shinji to use it if deemed necessary.

Shinji outshines his teammates and most of the Gotei 13 due to his remarkable talents. His inherent Soul Reaper skills are formidable on their own, but when combined with his Hollow powers and his proficiency in using Cero, there’s no doubt that he is the most powerful Visored.
