Summary
- Tite Kubo reimagined BLEACH as a school-themed series called High School Warfare for April Fools.
- Last year, fans were surprised by a dating sim for BLEACH, focusing on different characters.
- BLEACH Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 release may be in 2026 due to Studio Pierrot’s focus on Naruto.
Instead of BLEACH typically playing pranks for April Fool’s Day, this year, creator Tite Kubo provided a sneak peek into what BLEACH might look like as a school-themed series. Due to Japan being a few hours ahead of many regions, fans worldwide may find themselves unsure about the news they encounter on March 31st, based on their time zone.
This year and the year prior, the series BLEACH unveiled details about the “Bleach High School Warfare” project on April 1 (Japan Standard Time). The “Bleach High School Warfare” is a creative endeavor by Tite Kubo where he revisits the Bleach universe in an academic setting.
Tite Kubo Drops Visuals for Bleach High School Warfare
Artist Tite Kubo shared fresh images on his social media platform, showcasing various characters in a new high-school setting. Accompanying these drawings was a video, accompanied by the note “Enjoy April Fool’s Day!” Don’t miss it!
In the recent episode of Krew beInside, released on April 1st in Japan, the main visuals were prominently displayed as well.
The illustrations show Rukia, Orihime, Yoruichi and other characters:
Bleach High School Warfare Dropped a Dating Sim in 2024
It appears that Kubo primarily concentrated on the female characters this year; however, let me clarify that last year, Kubo also worked on the male characters and even introduced a dating sim to the official BLEACH site. Remarkably, you can still access and play the game on the website, but it’s important to note that the game is currently only available in Japanese.
Fans Thought It Was A Real Project

Though Kubo clarified it was an April Fool’s prank, many enthusiasts like me were taken aback and thought it might be a new venture – with a significant number getting genuinely thrilled, only to discover later it was all in jest. It appears Kubo has quite the affinity for April Fools’ Day, often releasing “humorous announcements” on this day. Here’s hoping we get more news about Bleach Highschool Warfare next year!
Indeed, there’s a possibility it might evolve into a full-fledged endeavor someday; just like “Fate/strange Fake,” which began as an April Fool’s prank and grew into a widely recognized ongoing series.
When Will BLEACH TWTBY Part 4 Be Out?
In December 2024, it was formally declared that Part 4 of the anime series “Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War” would debut. Ever since, fans have been eagerly anticipating any news regarding its launch date. As this is the last season, there’s a great deal of excitement building up among viewers.
Sadly, no new information about the upcoming release has been shared yet. However, it’s being whispered that Studio Pierrot is currently prioritizing Naruto’s special anniversary series, which might delay the debut of Bleach TYBW Part 4. It appears that we may not see Bleach TYBW Part 4 this year, but indications suggest a potential release in 2026.
Bleach and Bleach TYBW are available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
