Bloober Insists It Didn’t Forget About Silent Hill 2 PS5 Pro Fixes

Summary

  • Bloober Team is working on a future update to fix PS5 Pro issues in Silent Hill 2.
  • No confirmed timetable is available for when the update will be released.
  • Base PS5 version is currently recommended due to graphical issues in PS5 Pro mode. Total character count: 122.

Upon the debut of the PS5 Pro console, the developers at Bloober Team unveiled an update for Silent Hill 2, offering improved features tailored specifically for Sony’s leading console in terms of power. Regrettably, complications arose from this update, and a quick fix released shortly thereafter did not resolve all the visual glitches.

Since there’s been no news on it for several months now, one could think that Bloober Team may have put the project aside, considering they are preparing to launch another horror game this year.

Silent Hill 2 PS5 Pro Issues Will Be Fixed By A Future Update By Bloober

The developers at Bloober Team have informed Eurogamer that they are still working on resolving the PlayStation 5 Pro problems through an upcoming patch. They have shared that they are collaborating with their publisher to find a solution, and will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Regrettably, there’s no specific date set yet for the release of this update. It could potentially arrive as early as next month or possibly within a couple of months from now.

As a devoted player myself, I’d say for now, the standard PS5 version seems to offer a smoother gaming experience compared to the Pro model, as it doesn’t encounter the same performance glitches. On the game’s subreddit, fellow players have shared their thoughts on this very issue, with one user noting that Bloober’s solution for the PS5 Pro problem was simply removing PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) from Performance mode. Unfortunately, Quality mode is still plagued with issues unless you’re inside buildings or structures. Playing outside in the foggy streets can be quite a “flickery mess.

Although Konami hasn’t explicitly stated that there will be a Silent Hill 3 remake, the publisher has confirmed their collaboration with Bloober Team on a new project, leading many to speculate that this could possibly be another Silent Hill remake in the making.

Regarding Bloober Team, they are diligently working towards completing the development of their upcoming horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn. This game is rumored to draw inspiration from the Dead Space and Resident Evil series. A specific launch date hasn’t been announced yet, but it is confirmed that it will be available this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Once we know more about the Silent Hill 2 PS5 Pro patch, we’ll let our readers know.
