Bloober Team Open to Making More Silent Hill Games

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the news about potential future Silent Hill games has sent shivers down my spine (or maybe it was just the ghost nurses from SH2). The success of the Silent Hill 2 remake has certainly opened up possibilities for the franchise, and if Bloober Team is “always open” to the opportunity, then I’m more than ready to be re-immersed in the eerie fog of Silent Hill once again.

Given the strong sales performance of the Silent Hill 2 remake just weeks after its launch, there’s curiosity about whether developer Bloober Team will take on the challenge of remaking the original Silent Hill game or perhaps even Silent Hill 3 in the future.

Although no official announcement has been made yet, the studio has expressed interest in creating more Silent Hill games. In a recent interview, Bloober Team’s director Wojciech Piejko hinted at their openness to various opportunities, suggesting that they might be working on future installments of the Silent Hill series.

There are chances out there for you to grab hold of. Just like how Silent Hill 2 was reimagined, so too can you revive its legacy. Indeed, I firmly believe that anything is achievable.

To date, Konami hasn’t mentioned anything about the future of the franchise. However, considering the positive response to the Silent Hill 2 remake, it seems unlikely they will remain silent for much longer. Prior to the recent release of the Silent Hill 2 remake, the last mainline game in the series was Silent Hill 4: The Room, which came out in 2004. Since then, Konami has put out several spin-offs that didn’t manage to replicate the success of the earlier games in the franchise.

What’s Next for Bloober Team?

During the Xbox Partner Preview event, I recently caught wind of Cronos: The New Dawn – a chilling sci-fi horror game that unfolds in a post-apocalyptic ’80s Poland. As a Traveler, my objective is to retrieve survivors from the past who were left behind during the apocalypse. This will mark the studio’s inaugural foray into survival horror games based on an original IP. If the quality of this upcoming horror masterpiece even remotely approaches that of Silent Hill 2, fans are in store for a thrilling experience!
