Bloober Team’s Next Horror Game May Have Just Been Revealed

Fans are speculating about Bloober Team’s next project after discovering a new trademark filed by the studio and registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Bloober Team gained significant recognition with the successful launch of the Silent Hill 2 remake in October 2024. The game received excellent reviews and sold over a million copies in its first four days, bringing a new level of attention to the survival horror developer.

Bloober Team, a game development studio founded in Krakow in November 2008, began with the 2010 game History: Egypt – Engineering an Empire, which was based on the History Channel series. While their first games weren’t horror titles, they entered the genre in 2016 with Layers of Fear, a psychological horror adventure. Though Layers of Fear gained attention, it was 2017’s Observer that brought them significant critical acclaim. Despite mixed reviews for Blair Witch and The Medium, Bloober Team remained popular with horror fans. Recently, with the release of both Silent Hill 2 and Cronos: The New Dawn, they’ve solidified their position as a leading studio in modern survival horror.

I was browsing the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit on January 1, 2026, and came across a post by user Solid-Entertainer-39. They shared a link to a European Union Intellectual Property Office page, and it looks like Bloober Team has trademarked a new game! It’s called ‘Onyx: The Dark Grip.’ They originally filed for the trademark way back in May 2024, and it was officially registered and made public in September 2024. The trademark is good until May 2034, and it covers both the game software itself and entertainment services – so it definitely seems like a real game is in the works!

Bloober Team registered the trademark ‘Onyx: The Dark Grip’ in September 2024, but hasn’t announced any game with that title yet. Many fans believe this will be the name of their next game, which the company has hinted at since January 1st.

Okay, so I’m a big Bloober Team fan, and they really got my attention! Right at midnight on New Year’s Eve, they posted this super creepy GIF on X – just a pulsing red line of text that looked like gibberish: “remosdneulserorehsoovamceyerd.” It was all weirdly capitalized and bolded too. Then, they included a link to a website that’s just a countdown timer! It’s set to end on February 15th, and everyone’s buzzing that’s when they’ll finally announce their next game. There’s a lot of speculation it might be called Onyx: The Dark Grip – they’ve already trademarked that title, so it seems likely! I’m so excited to see what they’re working on.

Bloober Team is working on at least two games, currently known as ‘Project M’ and ‘Project F.’ Details are scarce, but ‘Project M’ is planned to launch in 2026 for Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. ‘Project F’ is also internally targeted for a 2026 release. While unconfirmed, ‘Onyx: The Dark Grip’ could be one of these projects.

Bloober Team is also developing a remake of the original Silent Hill game, which Konami revealed during their Press Start Showcase in June 2025. While the progress isn’t fully known, Bloober Team confirmed in a September 30, 2025, investor call that one of their two main development teams is currently working on the Silent Hill 1 remake.
