As you delve into the grand estate of Blue Prince, there’s no scarcity of discoveries awaiting you. However, what you’ll consistently need to keep an eye out for are gems and keys. Falling short on either could potentially halt a potentially victorious journey towards the Antechamber. Although these items have designated spawn points in certain chambers, they can also appear at random locations. You might even stumble upon them inside hidden trunks along your path, and here’s how to open them and seize the treasures within.
How to Open Locked Trunks in Blue Prince
As a cinephile delving into an old-school mystery, I’ve discovered that one method to unlock a mysterious trunk isn’t limited to specialized keys. In fact, regular door keys will do the trick. Yet, it’s wiser to keep those keys handy for the numerous locked doors you may encounter on your journey towards the Antechamber. After all, you wouldn’t want to run out of keys when it matters most!
Fortunately, you’ve got an alternative solution for opening any locked chests you stumble upon. Occasionally, spaces like closets and green rooms may contain a sledgehammer. Alternatively, you can buy a Sledgehammer from the Commissary if it’s in stock and you have enough Gold Coins. Unlike keys, a sledgehammer remains in your possession after use. This means that whenever you come across another locked chest during exploration, you can continue using the same sledgehammer. By doing so, you can reserve your keys for more critical uses.
What Do Locked Trunks Contain in Blue Prince?
You might stumble upon diverse contents inside an old lockbox should you come across one. The specific contents may differ depending on the situation. Although ordinary gems and keys are frequently discovered within such boxes, there could also be useful items hidden away.
Occasionally, you may stumble upon treasure chests containing gold coins, as well as dice that grant an additional roll for the three rooms you select during drafting. Additionally, you might come across special keys such as the Silver Key. Given the potential rewards, it’s definitely worth your effort to locate a sledgehammer and crack open these locked trunks. While a key can work in a pinch, it is not advisable in this particular puzzle game.
