Blue Prince: Secret Experiments Revealed!

In the game known as Blue Prince, various layouts provide special perks or exclusive activations limited to specific areas within those spaces. The Laboratory is one such area equipped with a Terminal, numerous notes, and a challenging puzzle related to the Periodic Table and nearby controls, making it particularly tricky to solve.

When designing the Lab, take note that the room details mention it gives access to “House Features.” In the game “Blue Prince“, experiments can exclusively be started in the Lab. It’s advantageous to learn how to perform these experiments (and discover various combinations you can make) to reap rewards from this mechanic and enhance your gameplay.

How To Create Experiments In Blue Prince

To set up Experiments in the Blue Prince game, players need to construct the Laboratory, a room that costs one Gem to build and has two entrances. Inside this laboratory, you’ll discover one of the four Terminals that may appear in the Mt. Holly Estate; the remaining terminals can be found in the Security Room, the Office, and the Study.

As an enthusiast, I’d like to share that this Laboratory Terminal offers me exclusive privileges to tinker with the fascinating Experiments mechanic. It allows me to customize the conditions under which an Experiment can occur, as well as its resulting effects. This personalized manipulation leads to a distinctive House Feature effect, making my gameplay experience truly one-of-a-kind!

To begin an experiment, players should navigate to the Terminal located in the Laboratory, which is situated near the lever puzzle of the Periodic Table. Once there, select the “Experiment Setup” option. The subsequent screen will provide an overview of the Experiment system’s fundamental concept. Click on “Start Experiment,” and you will encounter two lists: one for triggers (on the left) and one for effects (on the right).

Consider it as a cause-and-effect relationship: when the specified event or condition (on the left) occurs, a subsequent event or outcome (on the right) will follow.

Both lists offer randomly selected house features, granting temporary daily advantages. These perks don’t persist permanently; they’ll be restored to their original state once you decide to wrap up your activities for the day.

  • In the Select [A] column, choose a mechanic that you think you will be able to trigger.
    • For example, if you have a Shovel, you should choose triggers associated with digging up Dirt Patches, or if you have an Archive, select a trigger that benefits from drafting Archived rooms.
    • You can sometimes choose “Immediately” instead of a regular trigger, which immediately grants the effect you choose. This can only trigger once.
  • In the Select [B] column, select the effect that will trigger from your set Column [A] selection.
    • If you are low on Keys, choose an effect that will reward you with Keys. If you need more Gold to buy necessary items or are running low on Steps to continue through the manor, choose these effects.
    • You can also gain Ivory Dice, spawn Locked Trunks, and create many other effects.

After choosing your trigger and result, please click the “ASSEMBLE” button located at the bottom of the screen. Once you’ve done that, exit the Terminal. From then on, when the conditions for your selected trigger are met, you’ll automatically receive your chosen effect throughout the experiment.

At any point during an Experiment, players of Blue Prince have the ability to access the Blueprint Map using the TAB key. This map will display the current Experiment marked with a green sticky note. Should you wish to halt or temporarily pause the Experiment, simply log back into the Laboratory Terminal, then choose “Pause Experiment”.
