Six One Publishing, launched by the creators of the Six One Indie Showcase, is excited to announce its first published game: Blue Ridge Hunting. Developed by Jade Meadows, this game is a cooperative horror experience set in the Appalachian Mountains.
Players can explore the story of Levi Chambers, a West Virginian who has been troubled by sightings of the Mothman his whole life, either by playing alone or with up to two friends.
The game will delve into difficult topics like trauma, grief, and family relationships, all inspired by the stories and traditions of Appalachian folklore, according to a recent announcement.
The Appalachian Mountains are famous for their spooky stories and mysterious creatures. This game puts you in the role of the Appalachian Investigation Group, a team that hunts for these legendary beings. You’ll use various tools and investigate real sightings and local folklore to track down evidence and go on thrilling hunts.

- Always Listening: Creatures react to proximity voice chat and radio chatter. Communication is crucial, but dangerous.
- Into the Woods, Solo or Together: Explore the Appalachian wilds alone or with up to 5 players in online co-op freeplay mode.
- Bump In The Night: A narrative-driven story (1–3 players) following the Appalachian Investigation Group’s hunt for the truth.
- Experience The Legends: Face unique, intelligent creatures based on real Appalachian legends and folklore.
- Dark-Bluegrass Symphony: An original score that blends haunting melodies with Appalachian roots, amplifying the tension and tone.
Blue Ridge Hunting will initially be available as an early access game, with the complete story coming in the full 1.0 release. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, you can try out a demo on Steam now. The developers are also running a Kickstarter campaign to support the game’s continued development.
