Summary
- PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are losing access to at least eight games on April 15.
- This includes highly-rated titles like Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Slay the Spire.
- It’s rumored that the critically-acclaimed Disco Elysium could be leaving PS Plus that same day as well.
April 15th, Tuesday marks a melancholic day for PlayStation Plus subscribers who are part of the Extra and Premium tiers, as it’s when some top-tier games will depart from these service offerings. Unlike the monthly free games accessible through the Essential tier which can be retained by PlayStation Plus members indefinitely if they maintain their subscription, the titles available in the Extra and Premium packages cycle in and out.
Sony gives its fans advance notice about which games are being removed from PS Plus Extra and Premium via the “Last Chance to Play” section. As per the recent update for this feature, at least eight games will depart from PS Plus on April 15th, including some of the service’s top-rated titles. To make matters worse, there are rumors that another highly-regarded game might also be leaving PS Plus in the coming days.
It appears Reddit user MichaelWildeboer has presented a compelling argument that Disco Elysium may depart from PS Plus on April 15, alongside the other confirmed games. Although it’s not explicitly mentioned in the “Last Chance to Play” area, the game page for Disco Elysium shows an expiring license with the same date and time as the other games scheduled to leave the service. MichaelWildeboer also highlighted that Disco Elysium has been accessible through PS Plus Extra for 18 months now, which suggests it might be removed soon. This is plausible because there have been instances in the past where titles were taken off the service even if they were not included in the “Last Chance to Play” section.
PS Plus Extra Games Leaving Soon List
- Animal Well
- Deliver Us Mars
- Disco Elysium – RUMORED
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits
- Miasma Chronicles
- Nour: Play With Your Food
- Slay the Spire
- Stray Blade
- Tales of Kenzera: Zau
Disco Elysium, with a 92 overall critic score, stands among the top-tier games available on PS Plus Extra. While there’s a chance it might stick around beyond April 15, those eager to play it may want to make it a priority now, as its presence on the service is currently guaranteed. Meanwhile, there are other notable games set to depart from PS Plus Extra on April 15.
Animal Well, an award-winning Metroidvania, was a day one addition to PS Plus Extra last year and can be completed by subscribers before it vanishes. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is another game that’s received praise, as is Slay the Spire, often recognized as one of the best deckbuilding roguelikes out there.
As numerous excellent games are set to depart from PS Plus Extra on April 15, the upcoming departures seem particularly painful. However, there’s a silver lining: it’s highly probable that new games will be introduced into both the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus on the very same day. So, at least subscribers have something exciting to anticipate!
