Borderlands: 10 Weirdest Weapons

The Borderlands series is particularly renowned for its extensive, diverse weapon system – a fact emphasized in their promotional material with the slogan “BAZILLIONS OF GUNS!!!

By blending an unusual wit with the abundance of weaponry, it’s almost certain you’ll encounter some weapons that deviate from the norm.

Among all the games, these ten stand out as the quirkiest due to their arsenal of humorous weaponry – they’re the strangest weapons the series has ever produced.

10. T.K.’s Wave

Borderlands

This particular gun is included due to being an unusual one that gamers initially encounter in Borderlands. It’s a potent shotgun manufactured by Dahl, which discharges a wriggling wave of erratic projectiles.

Despite its distinctive wavy trajectory making it difficult to strike, it delivers an immense impact. The rebounding feature adds to the chaos, causing the waves to bounce unpredictably in all directions.

Obtaining this firearm is your prize for successfully finishing the secondary mission titled “T.K.’s Life and Limb.” To me, this weapon symbolized a tantalizing glimpse into the unusual events that were about to unfold throughout the game, significantly contributing to my growing affection towards the series.

9. Toby’s Bright Spadroon

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!

In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, this is as near as you can come to actually using a lightsaber. It’s your prize for completing the Star Wars-inspired side-mission called “These Are The Bots”.

As its description suggests, this gadget is awkward and unpredictable. It’s an energy weapon that discharges a beam most effectively in close combat, and it seems to work best when used erratically or wildly.

For quite some time, I’ve relied on it due to its impressive ability to penetrate through anything. However, the nauseating screen movement required to operate it became tiresome after a while, making it rather unpleasant.

8. Love Leopard

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

To obtain this rocket launcher, you’ll need to charm numerous NPCs during the side-quest titled “Non-Violent Offender” in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The unique aspect of this weapon is that it fires a heart-shaped rocket which, upon explosion, creates even more heart symbols when aimed at enemies.

1) Using the method to acquire this launcher, it’s definitely a keeper for frequent use. I always save this side mission for when my characters are at their highest levels, ensuring optimal effectiveness.

Should fortune smile upon you, upon finishing the quest, you might discover enhanced versions of the item up for purchase in vending machines.

7. Bubble Blaster

Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood

Instead of using bullets, this Maliwan pistol from the Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood DLC becomes yours by completing the Dirty Deeds side quest – a summer-fun adventure!

You offer a man an extraordinary spa experience to acquire this item, and it’s definitely worth venturing away from the usual routes. Notably, SpongeBob BulletPants endorses its use in Psycho Kreig’s Fantastic Fustercluck DLC.

These bubbles advance at a leisurely pace, yet pack a powerful punch and scatter radioactive fog in their wake. With a moderate reach, they tend to curve upwards due to their bubble nature.

There’s no greater pleasure than clearing out an outlaw camp using just soap bubbles and camaraderie.

6. Gettleburger

Borderlands 3

Instead of focusing on a knife, consider this scenario: When you take hamburgers into a conflict involving guns, they’ll simply get knocked about and cause rust or deterioration to whatever they come into contact with.

Once you’ve finished the Dynasty Diner mission in Borderlands 3, you’ll be given an appetizing projectile weapon as a prize. This special reward features a distinctive weapon skin that adorns the launcher with 2D moving images of delicious burgers.

Despite being less combative than its hamburger-shooting counterpart, the Iceburger, you shouldn’t rely on it for long, as its effectiveness in battle is not as strong.

5. Gelatinous Cube

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

In the game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, it was inevitable that this well-known D&D creature would make an appearance, but I never imagined myself hurling jelly-like cubes at my foes. It’s a Conjurer spell book item, and the only way to get it is by sheer luck of the drop falling in your favor.

With a moderate recharge time, casting this spell brings forth a jiggling blob that skips across the battlefield, creating toxic pools and placing sticky poison mines at their centers as it goes.

Although it’s amusing to be reminded of a classic D&D element, it’s also an immensely potent spell. I always have it included in my spore warden character setup and consider it essential for any crafter of fates concentrating on poison.

4. Predatory Lending

Borderlands 3

If you’ve ever dreamed of an SMG that doesn’t rely on Marcus for ammo, this could be the one for you. The Hyperion has designed this firearm specifically to convert your hard-gained currency directly into ammunition.

With each shot from this weapon, cash appears to spurt out of its barrel, gradually depleting your virtual bank balance as shown on the screen’s right-hand side.

Although it may prove extremely powerful during high-level gameplay where money is less crucial, it tends to underperform when dealing with damage.

I don’t actually use this gun, but I like to keep it around as a joke with my friends. In the game Borderlands 3, you can find it anywhere, but the easiest method to obtain it is by farming Lavender Crawley and her high-society varkid family.

3. The Shoddy

Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood

This gun ejects bullets casually, as if by magic. In a literal sense, that’s what happens. It’s undeniably the poorest gun in the game, designed intentionally for some reason.

In the Bounty of Blood DLC for Borderlands 3, successfully finishing the Money Back Guarantee quest will earn you a Jakob shotgun. However, the character Stickly deceives you into thinking you’re buying the greatest weapon around before subjecting you to various difficulties after charging an exorbitant price for it.

Regardless of its worthlessness, this item is permanently stored in my bank vault. It’s amusing to see the bullets land harmlessly at your feet, incapable of causing any harm or benefit.

2. The Bane

Borderlands 2

Regardless of whether you’re familiar with Borderlands 2 or not, you might have come across tales about this infamous Hyperion SMG. As you uncover its origins in a side-quest titled “The Bane,” be aware that this weapon is cursed, bringing devastation to every soul who has had the ill fortune of using it.

For the initial usage, you discover that the curse reveals itself in a slowing of your movement almost to a standstill and the weapon producing an intense, violent sound each time it discharges. Though its blows pack a punch, enduring to wield this artifact proves significantly more challenging.

The anticipation leading to the revelation gave me an even greater sense of fulfillment, leaving me curious about what form this curse might take until the climactic moment arrived. Since then, loud gunfire has been a recurring feature in Borderlands games, and I can’t imagine that changing anytime in the future.

1. Porta-Pooper 5000

Borderlands 3

Among all unusual weapons, none can compare to a rocket launcher that hurls fecal matter and is fond of motivational phrases related to defecation. The prize for finishing the Porta-Pooper sidemission in Borderlands 3 undoubtedly claims the number one position.

You win it by trying to save a bandit from a portable toilet, and subsequently eliminating him once the portable toilet soars into the stratosphere. The creature’s skin, as grotesque and brown as its moniker suggests, is equally unappealing. Its ammunition, simply put, consists of raw sewage.

This item could be just a joke, but it becomes an exceptionally powerful launcher when used at advanced levels. I often include it in my standard weapons arsenal, chuckling merrily like a kid at every humorous reference to excrement it produces.

Regardless of your views on the bathroom-themed jokes in the Borderlands series, they undeniably reach extraordinary levels of hilarity.
