Borderlands 4 is offering the Savings Savior skin as a reward to players, after the YOLT community completed their challenge. This free skin is a great way to encourage Borderlands 4 players to try out Rafa, a new character (or Vault Hunter) in the newest game in the Borderlands series.
Beginning with Borderlands 2 in 2012, Gearbox Software has consistently used its SHiFT rewards program to give players codes for free items, including in-game loot and character skins. Typically, these SHiFT codes provide players with golden keys, which are essential for opening golden chests filled with valuable items. Recently, a new community event began in Borderlands 4, and a new Rafa skin has been announced as the reward for the SHiFT code.

Borderlands 4 players can get the Savings Savior skin for Rafa by using the code “TZXT3-XJXCB-CXBJW-BTTJT-9SK6B” through the SHiFT menu in the game or on the SHiFT website. According to the game’s official Twitter, this code is available until December 31, 2030. It was released because players successfully completed a community challenge, achieving 23.4 million second winds with Rafa between September 26th and 28th-exceeding the goal by 3.4 million! The new skin is based on Rafa’s appearance in his introduction video, “YOLT,” and features the Tediore logo on the back, referencing his previous employer. Just a reminder, Borderlands 4 players need to have a SHiFT account and connect it to their gaming platform to claim this free item.

The newest SHiFT code reward is a great find for fans of Rafa, a popular character from Borderlands 4. The “Savings Savior” outfit not only changes his look, but also hints at his troubled history as a soldier, giving players a glimpse into his backstory. The outfit’s gritty details, like the blood stains, give Rafa a distinctive appearance that could appeal to players who haven’t tried him in this first-person shooter game.

While we wait, players are really excited about C4SH, a new character coming to Borderlands 4. C4SH is the first of two new vault hunters that will be added through paid downloadable content. The story pack, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show last week and is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2026. It will be fascinating to see if this DLC changes how popular the different playable characters are.
