The Horrors of Kairos event is deeply connected to the open world of Borderlands 4 – perhaps a little too much so. Here’s an explanation of how the event works, and a list of all the unique items you can earn by taking part.

How Does Horrors of Kairos Work in Borderlands 4?

This Halloween event in Borderlands 4 lets players hunt down special world bosses. These bosses appear inside glowing bubbles that randomly pop up on the map. When you find a bubble, enter it and defeat the boss inside for a chance to win new, powerful legendary items.

The main issue is that these powerful enemies appear in random locations. You’ll probably waste a lot of time driving around in Borderlands 4 just trying to find one. Unlike some other enemies, you can’t reliably hunt these world bosses for specific loot, but there is a way to increase your chances of finding their spawn locations.

The Kairos event, ‘Horrors of Kairos,’ will take place from October 23rd to November 6th. Because it’s a seasonal event, you can expect it to return around the same time each year.

How to Farm Horrors of Kairos Event in Borderlands 4

In Borderlands 4, each region has specific spots where a powerful world boss can appear. If you find one of these spots but it’s currently empty, it’s best to leave the area and wait a few minutes before checking back. Remember, the game considers you to have entered a new area whenever a location name appears on your screen.

For this trick, we recommend checking out the following locations:

  • Punitive Manufactorum – Terminus Ridge East
  • Fishing Spot – Fadefields
  • The forest north of the Launchpad in Fadefields

The Punitive Manufactorum is entered through a small cave entrance along the water.

Quickly travel to one of the shown locations, then check the areas marked on the maps. If you don’t see any bubbles there, try a different spot. The best way to do this is to fast-travel away and wait about five minutes – this will ensure the map updates.
