Borderlands 4: How to Replace Power Core (TASK Master Quest)

In Borderlands 4, players step into the shoes of a Vault Hunter, experiencing the series’ signature chaotic adventures. Shortly after completing a major heist, a crew member named Kilo will assign players a series of quests called “TASK.” These quests involve looting abandoned Order Pods, which become progressively harder to open. The final quest, “TASK Master,” adds an extra challenge: players must replace the power core before accessing the loot.

How to Replace the Power Core in Borderlands 4 (TASK Master Quest)

The TASK Master quest is the last mission in Kilo’s storyline in *Borderlands 4*. To start it, players must first finish the main mission “One Fell Swoop,” then complete the side quests “The Kairos Job,” “Free for the TASKing,” and “TASK and Ye Shall Receive.”

After finishing the necessary quests, find Kilo at the Launchpad Faction Town (Safe House) – she’ll always be in the same spot. She’ll give you a final quest called TASK Master, sending you to salvage another crashed Order Ship. This mission is labeled as “Very Hard,” but the challenge isn’t about fighting; it’s something else.

Players now need to go to the location shown on the map and find an abandoned Order Ship in a field. They can claim this ship, and it will function much like the ones from previous quests, with the same kinds of buttons and levers. However, there’s one new addition: a power core on the left side that players can detach using their grapple, adding a new challenge.

Before you begin the button sequence, it’s crucial to eliminate all enemies nearby. You’ll need to react quickly to Kilo’s instructions, and even a single enemy attack can interrupt you, making you start the whole process over.

After completing your current task, you can begin opening the Order Pod in the TASK Master quest in *Borderlands 4*. Here’s the correct order to press the buttons and pull the levers to unlock it.

If you make a mistake at any point, you’ll have to begin the process from the start. Don’t worry though – there’s no penalty for trying again, so feel free to take your time and work through it until you succeed.
