Gearbox Software shared a funny video poking fun at the recent changes they made to the popular ‘Crit Knife’ strategy in Borderlands 4. Players have already had a busy week, with the release of the highly anticipated second major update and the first seasonal event for the game.
Players have been eagerly awaiting updates to the game, and this week, those changes arrived. Borderlands 4 received a significant update with numerous adjustments, improvements, and balancing tweaks. This update also effectively removed a powerful player strategy that relied on repeatedly stacking bleed damage and critical hits.
The Borderlands 4 Crit Knife Nerf May Not Be as Bad as Thought
Gearbox released the second major update for Borderlands 4 this week, along with the new Horrors of Kairos seasonal event. A key focus for players and even the developers was the upcoming weakening of the popular ‘bleed build’ for Vex and the Crit Knife. To acknowledge the changes, Gearbox playfully released a video styled like an obituary, showcasing impressive clips of the Crit Knife dealing huge damage.
The video was intentionally humorous, especially since the Gearbox team had repeatedly warned players about upcoming changes to Borderlands 4. Despite this, many comments were surprisingly upbeat. While some players still expressed frustration with the adjustments to the game, many others seemed to be enjoying the changes. Key community members like Moxsy and EpicNNG have noted that the nerfs aren’t as bad as feared, and even though the game doesn’t play exactly as it did before the update, players are still able to inflict significant damage on enemies.
So, the latest Borderlands 4 patch quietly added some really helpful stuff. I just found out that after you beat the campaign and start a new character, all the fast travel points and Faction Towns are unlocked right away! It’s awesome because before, you had to grind to find and unlock everything all over again when starting a new level 30 character. It’s a small thing, but makes a big difference. Now we’re all hoping Gearbox will let us transfer SDU upgrades between characters on the same account – that would be a game changer!
