Borderlands 4 Releases New Update for November 2025

Gearbox recently released a new update for Borderlands 4. While it’s a smaller update, it improves the gameplay experience for two of the game’s four playable characters. This launch is just the beginning for Borderlands 4 players, as Gearbox plans to regularly add new content through weekly updates, free events, and larger downloadable expansions to keep the game exciting.

Although not a traditional ‘live service’ game like Fortnite, Gearbox intends to keep Borderlands 4 engaging with regular updates and new content. Before the game even launched, they shared a detailed roadmap, and have since revealed details about the new character C4SH and the first downloadable content pack, ‘How Rush Saved Mercenary Day.’ Beyond these larger additions, Gearbox plans to frequently update the game each week with rotating quests, boss battles, and targeted gear rewards, often alongside general updates.

This week’s update includes a fix for a couple of character abilities. Amon’s Dragon’s Breath and Rafa’s First Impression now correctly boost the damage of each bullet or pellet fired, rather than applying the boost to the total damage output. This means players, particularly those using weapons that fire multiple projectiles, should notice a damage increase. While not as large an update as the previous balance patch, it’s an important correction to how these abilities function.

This update also fixes a problem for players looking for Phosphene weapons in Borderlands 4. The drop rate for the Complex Root Maliwan Legendary Sniper Rifle has been adjusted. While Gearbox hasn’t said whether the change makes it more or less common, it will likely remain a very rare find, similar to other Phosphene-level weapons.

A new week has begun in Borderlands 4, bringing fresh content for players! This week’s Moxxi’s Big Encore Boss is a tougher version of Pango Bango, offering better rewards for those who can defeat him. The weekly wildcard mission is Mob Rules, featuring the Healthy, Fortified, and Regenerative modifiers, and completing it will reward you with Burt’s Bees legendary gear. Plus, Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine has moved to a new location and is stocked with a brand new selection of gear.

Borderlands 4 November 6, 2025 Update Patch Notes

  • Forgeknight’s Dragon’s Breath passive and Exo-Soldier’s First Impression passive have been adjusted to apply the bonus amount to each projectile.
    • Dev Note: These passives were previously applying their bonus to the total amount of damage, rather than applying to each projectile. This results in an increase in damage to both, and makes them work as intended with guns that fire multiple pellets.
  • Corrected the chance of Maliwan Legendary Sniper Rifle Complex Root dropping as Phosphene.
