Players of Borderlands 4 can now get a free ECHO-4 Drone skin! Just redeem the SHiFT code available on the SHiFT website. This is part of the game’s “12 Days of Mercenary Day” event, where Gearbox is giving away free items to celebrate the holidays.
Gearbox uses SHiFT codes to give players free items in the game. Most often, these codes unlock Golden Keys in Borderlands 4, which players can use to get loot from Golden Chests. Sometimes, Gearbox also offers special, limited-time cosmetic items through these codes, but these don’t last forever. Since cosmetic giveaways are less common, it’s a good idea to claim them when you can.

A new code for Borderlands 4 has been released on the official Borderlands X account, starting the “12 Days of Mercenary Day” event. The code is J9XTB-SJWS3-WRTTC-BJTJJ-TH6TX and unlocks the “A Winter Borderland” ECHO-4 Drone skin, changing your drone’s appearance to all white. Players can redeem this code on the SHiFT website or through the in-game SHiFT menu. Gearbox has confirmed the code will be active until December 31, 2030, so there’s plenty of time to claim this free skin, but it’s best to redeem it now while you remember!
How to Redeem Borderlands 4 SHiFT Codes
- Head over to the SHiFT website and log in to your SHiFT account. If you don’t have an existing one, create one.
- Go to the “Gaming Platforms” tab and ensure that your SHiFT account is linked to your gaming account.
- Open the “Rewards” tab.
- Enter the new SHiFT code underneath the “Code Redemption” header. When prompted, select the platform that you want to redeem the code on. This will depend on the gaming accounts you have linked to your SHiFT account.
As a big Borderlands 4 fan, I’ve been keeping an eye on the SHiFT codes Gearbox has been releasing since the game came out. They’ve mostly been for Golden Keys, which is great, but the best stuff seems to drop during events! We already had a Halloween event with some really cool spooky cosmetics unlocked through codes, and now with the Mercenary Day promotion just starting, I’m hoping to see a ton more Christmas-themed gear become available over the next 11 days.
