A store in Portugal has listed Borderlands 4 with a release date of February 27, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2. This suggests that’s when the game is expected to come out on the new console.
If you didn’t know, the Switch 2 release of Borderlands 4 was postponed back in September 2025 because the developers needed more time to finish it. We haven’t heard a new release date since then, but a recent listing suggests one could be announced soon.

Okay, so I was browsing around and stumbled upon a listing for Borderlands 4 on the Portuguese site, Gaming Replay. Apparently, it says the game is coming out on February 27, 2026, for the Switch 2! It’s listed as a digital game key card and will cost around €69.99. If you’re in that region, you can even pre-order it right now on their website, which is pretty wild!
In November 2025, the CEO of Take Two mentioned that initial sales for Borderlands 4 were lower than expected, but they are optimistic about long-term performance. They hope the release of the Switch 2 will boost sales considerably.
Borderlands 4 is the newest game in the popular Borderlands series, known for its huge number of guns, diverse enemies, and fun cooperative play. This time, players will explore a new planet called Kairos and play as one of four unique Vault Hunters. The game features a large open world with plenty of enemies, unpredictable events, and missions to complete.
