Boruto: All 7 Characters That Have Defeated An Otsutsuki, Ranked

The Otsutsuki are among the strongest beings in the Boruto universe, and their power is immense. As alien parasites who consume chakra to become gods, they are incredibly challenging opponents. However, they aren’t unbeatable. Over time, the creator has introduced several powerful characters who have managed to defeat them – some of whom are just humans who’ve reached incredible levels of strength through dedicated training.

Hamura Otsutsuki

Hamura Otsutsuki was the younger brother of Hagoromo and an incredibly powerful figure in the Naruto universe. He battled his own mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki, when she attempted to steal all the chakra from the world and become its only ruler. After a long, months-long fight, Hamura, alongside his brother, managed to defeat her. Despite his strength, he’s often an overlooked character in the series.

Hamura possessed immense power, including the Tenseigan and Six Paths Senjutsu. This allowed him to significantly weaken Kaguya and then guard her sealed body on the moon.

Asura Otsutsuki

Asura Otsutsuki, the youngest son of Hagoromo, is one of the most fascinating characters in the series. Though he wasn’t naturally strong, Asura possessed incredible life force. When Hagoromo sought a worthy successor, Asura ultimately prevailed and received immense power from the sage.

This incredible power made Asura unbelievably strong, eventually allowing him to challenge even the Gods within the Naruto universe. He famously defeated Indra Otsutsuki, becoming one of the rare few to ever overcome a member of the Otsutsuki clan. While we never saw the full extent of his abilities, judging by Naruto’s strength, Asura was likely an immensely powerful being.

Boruto Uzumaki

In the current generation of ninja, Boruto Uzumaki is incredibly powerful and a serious danger to enemies like the Otsutsuki clan. He actually possesses the power of an Otsutsuki, inherited from Momoshiki. Before Momoshiki was finally defeated, Boruto played a crucial role, ultimately delivering the finishing blow with a unique vanishing Rasengan, which completely destroyed him.

Momoshiki placed a special mark, called Karma, on Boruto before he died, which would eventually allow him to be reborn. Because of this, Boruto has become incredibly powerful, now able to defeat most of the Otsutsuki characters on his own.

Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha is an exceptionally strong ninja with the immense power of the Six Paths. As an adult, he’s become powerful enough to fight opponents like the Otsutsuki clan, as demonstrated in his battles against Kinshiki and Momoshiki. During the fight with Momoshiki Otsutsuki, Sasuke proved his incredible strength, and it’s clear that defeating such a powerful enemy wouldn’t have been possible without him.

Sasuke played a huge role in defeating Momoshiki. Although he’s never won a solo fight against an Otsutsuki, he’s repeatedly held them off and was essential to the team’s ultimate victory.

Kaguya Otsutsuki

Kaguya Otsutsuki is one of the most powerful characters in the series. A thousand years ago, she arrived on Earth with Isshiki Otsutsuki, planning to grow chakra fruits and establish a new Otsutsuki colony. But Kaguya ultimately betrayed Isshiki, nearly killing him. She then took control of Earth and consumed the chakra fruits herself.

Kaguya developed a strong love for Earth, even marrying a human and having children with him – essentially creating the first ninja. Meanwhile, her partner, Isshiki Otsutsuki, managed to survive by possessing a monk named Jigen, and later reappeared as a major villain in the Boruto series. Kaguya herself became corrupted by the immense power she gained and was initially sealed away by her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura. However, she was resurrected during the Fourth Great Ninja War by Black Zetsu, and ultimately resealed through the combined efforts of Naruto and Sasuke.

Hagoromo Otsutsuki

Hagoromo Otsutsuki, often called the Sage of Six Paths, is considered one of the most powerful characters in the series, perhaps the strongest of all. As the first son of Kaguya, he was uniquely gifted, being the only person born with the Rinnegan and possessing incredible Six Paths powers.

Hagoromo was exceptionally powerful, and his abilities were quickly recognized as a rare bloodline limit, similar to his mother, Kaguya. He fought bravely alongside his brother against her, performing remarkably well. With Hamura’s assistance, he managed to seal Kaguya away and then became the host of the Ten Tails, significantly increasing his strength. Hagoromo was capable of defeating most of the Otsutsuki clan throughout the universe, making him an incredibly formidable warrior.

Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki has battled members of the Otsutsuki clan several times, and he’s defeated more of them than any other character in the series. He first defeated Kaguya during the Fourth Great Ninja War with the help of Team 7. Later, he faced Toneri Otsutsuki on the moon, and even though he was weakened, he still managed to defeat him decisively.

Years after becoming Hokage, Naruto faced and defeated two powerful Otsutsuki clan members: Momoshiki and Isshiki. Even without his full strength, he easily overpowered both opponents. He played a crucial role in Momoshiki’s defeat and ultimately defeated Isshiki using a powerful new ability. Naruto is currently the most effective fighter against the Otsutsuki in the entire Naruto universe. Although he’s temporarily sealed away, fans expect his return, likely with more battles against the Otsutsuki, where he’ll continue to demonstrate his strength and secure further victories.
