Boruto: Himawari Uzumaki’s Full Potential With Kurama, Explained

I’ve been following Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, and Himawari Uzumaki is really standing out. She’s taken on a new partnership with Kurama, but what’s fascinating is that she’s different from her father, Naruto. He was a jinchuriki, a host for a tailed beast, but Himawari seems to be something else entirely – more like a tailed beast and connected to the Shinju Tree. It’s still a bit unclear exactly what’s going on with her powers, but the fact that she can wield Kurama’s strength without being a traditional jinchuriki suggests her potential is incredible.

Himawari is still learning to fully control the power she inherited from Kurama. While she’s already demonstrated abilities like creating small energy blasts, healing, and using a lot of chakra in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, she hasn’t reached her full potential yet. Considering how powerfully Naruto utilized Kurama, it’s likely Himawari, who shares Kurama’s spirit, could eventually become even stronger than him.

Naruto Uzumaki is considered one of the most powerful jinchuriki in the ninja world. He and Kurama, the Nine-Tails, had an incredible partnership. They learned to control the Nine-Tails’ immense power and fought perfectly together during the Fourth Great Ninja War, even pushing themselves to their limits with the Baryon Mode in Boruto. Together, they consistently overcame powerful enemies and protected the world.

Himawari continues to impress fans with how well she connects to the Nine-Tails’ power. Surprisingly, she seems more in tune with this energy than even Naruto, likely because of the unique way she was raised. Both of her parents, and even her mother’s mother, Kushina, have all hosted the Nine-Tails’ chakra before. Because of this family history, Himawari naturally has a strong connection to tailed beast energy, having been exposed to it from birth.

Despite everything, Himawari might actually become stronger than Naruto. Because of her unique connection to the Tailed Beast, she could potentially use Kurama’s power without any of the usual problems or weaknesses other jinchuriki face. Plus, her Byakugan could give her even greater skill, precision, and control, possibly exceeding Naruto’s abilities.

Baryon Mode is Naruto’s most powerful transformation, achieved with the help of Kurama in the Boruto series. It massively boosts his strength and speed, taking all of his abilities to the extreme. However, this incredible power comes at a terrible price: it drains the life force of both Naruto and Kurama. Naruto can only use Baryon Mode once, and tragically, it results in Kurama’s death.

Using Baryon Mode had lasting effects on both Naruto and Kurama. Naruto can no longer use this power, and it’s extremely unlikely he ever will again, as Kurama is gone. Now, Kurama’s energy lives on within Himawari, meaning she and Kurama are essentially the same being – a single entity.

Considering this, it’s quite possible Himawari will develop her own unique version of Baryon Mode. She could even master the technique without the dangerous side effects Naruto experienced, due to her special abilities. Alternatively, the author might introduce a completely new Tailed Beast transformation for her at some point.

Fans of Boruto have witnessed Himawari’s first transformation as a jinchuriki. This change caused her eyes to turn red and her hair to split into nine flowing strands, similar to Kurama’s nine tails. In this state, she demonstrated complete control over her mind and body, and impressively, was able to use Kurama’s powers effortlessly, as seen during her battle with Jura.

During her fight with Jura, Himawari repeatedly fired off incredibly strong Tailed Beast Balls that were equal in power to Jura’s attacks. She also heals very quickly, allowing her to recover from injuries almost instantly and even help others heal too. As she gets better at controlling Kurama’s chakra, Himawari has the potential to become as skilled as Killer Bee, who can fully transform into a Tailed Beast whenever he wants.
