Moving forward from the Naruto series, the sequel titled Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has introduced a host of characters who have exceeded the power levels seen in the original storyline. Characters like Boruto and Kawaki are evident examples among the protagonists, but even some of the adversarial figures have demonstrated such immense power. Delta is one such individual; previously an Inner within Kara and now a valuable ally for Konoha after switching sides.
I’ve always found Delta to be an intriguing character due to her rich and multi-dimensional background, which ties so closely with Amado and forms a vital part of the storyline in Boruto. Her formidable presence is a result of her exceptional skills and combat abilities. As a genetically altered cyborg carrying Shibai Otsutsuki’s DNA, Delta is someone you don’t want to mess with. In her initial state, she was already powerful; but after being redesigned by Amado, her powers grew exponentially, making her one of the strongest characters in the Boruto manga.
Who Is Delta?
A Former Inner Within Kara
First Appearance | Boruto, Episode 157 “Kara’s Footprints” |
Debut Date | July 19, 2020 |
In Kara, Boruto’s introduction featured several intimidating figures, later identified as Inners of Kara. One of these characters was Delta, who held the prestigious position of being an Inner within the organization. This title is given to those dedicated to Jigen’s mission and possessing extraordinary power. However, it turns out that Delta’s loyalty wasn’t voluntary; she was engineered by Amado to serve Jigen’s agenda because she’s actually a clone of his deceased daughter, Akebi, who passed away from an incurable disease.
One reason Amado joined Jigen’s Kara project was to bring back Akebi, but after discovering Isshiki’s true plan, he changed his mind. During his rebellion against Jigen, Amado put a stop to Delta’s actions, and she was later reprogrammed to serve Konoha instead, making her an ally to the series’ main characters. However, even as she fights for Konoha, Delta remains fiercely aggressive and driven by an unquenchable thirst for blood.
A Living Scientific Ninja Tool
Delta’s Entire Body Is Modified With Scientific Tools
Delta could be described as a scientifically-gifted warrior, armed with various tools for combat embedded within her very being. What sets her apart is her unique talent to assimilate ninjutsu and chakra in its entirety, rendering her virtually impervious to most ninjutsu attacks. This gives her an edge against shinobi who predominantly rely on their ninjutsu skills, like Naruto.
In their fierce clash, Naruto found it challenging to prevail against Delta, even with his prodigious chakra and Nine-Tails power. Though he bombarded her with countless oversized Rasengans to overwhelm her chakra-absorbing eyes, a typical shinobi would have depleted their chakra reserves much earlier. To make matters worse, Delta’s remarkable eye ability enables her to fire laser beams, which may seem unremarkable but possess the extraordinary quality of neutralizing all healing and regenerative powers.
As Kawaki explains, Delta’s laser beam has the unique ability to completely destroy cells, which in turn stops any potential regeneration. This makes a significant difference in their fight, as Naruto heavily depends on his regenerative powers fueled by Kuruma’s massive chakra. Moreover, Delta’s body is battle-ready, with her legs capable of transforming into rocket boosters for flight or extending to strike opponents and pass through them.
These powerful beams are designed to neutralize the rejuvenation abilities they encounter. Any cell within their path is entirely annihilated when struck.
Unparalleled Taijutsu Strength and Physical Prowess
Delta Excels in Hand-to-Hand Combat

Incorporating Otsutsuki genetic material and undergoing cybernetic enhancements, Delta exhibits extraordinary physical strength. Her mastery of Taijutsu, the martial art of unarmed combat, allows her to hold her own against formidable adversaries in close quarters, as demonstrated during her battle with Naruto Uzumaki. Despite Naruto’s activation of his Six Path Sage Mode, he found it challenging to match Delta’s Taijutsu capabilities. Furthermore, she can emit chakra energy that envelops her body, significantly boosting her physical power.
In both power and swiftness, only a few shinobi can match Delta when it comes to hand-to-hand combat and close quarters fighting. Since her remodeling, Delta’s physical abilities have surpassed what was thought possible for her. This became especially clear immediately after she was reawakened following Amado’s reprogramming. With her enhanced brute force, she managed to subdue Code, a character known to be stronger than Delta, demonstrating her incredible physical power. This suggests that she might be the most powerful physical fighter in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
An Unkillable Conscience
Delta Can Switch Consciousness Between Multiple Clones

Delta’s arsenal includes numerous advanced scientific devices, turning her into an almost invincible combat machine. However, what truly sets her apart is her indomitable moral compass. Should her physical form be completely annihilated, she can transfer her consciousness to a new duplicate of herself. This was strikingly demonstrated during her encounter with Naruto, as spectators initially believed she had suffered a fatal blow.
Following her defeat at the hands of the Seventh Hokage, Delta wakes up again in Amado’s lab, now in a new body duplicate. Given that it took nearly all of Naruto’s might to vanquish Delta in her prior form, it appears that completely eliminating Delta becomes a challenge, since she can be resurrected indefinitely as long as a replica of her remains. Additionally, Delta has the ability to transfer her consciousness to other objects, which is demonstrated by the fact that her consciousness is also connected to the small drone she keeps on her back.
A Remodified Delta
Delta Has Returned to Boruto Stronger Than Ever

In the “Boruto” anime series, we last saw Delta being frozen by Amado during his rebellion against Jigen. This was the final appearance of Delta that fans saw in the “Boruto” anime and the early chapters of the “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex” manga. However, Delta reappeared again in the Omnipotence Arc, but this time with a new body. This new body retains Delta’s old powers, along with an enhanced level of physical strength.
Immediately following her revival, Delta demonstrated remarkable strength by subduing Code effortlessly. This is particularly impressive given that Code was originally more powerful than Delta. However, Eida intervened to halt the fight. It’s clear now that Delta has surpassed her previous self in strength, capable of matching Naruto in combat. Despite being reprogrammed to serve Konoha, Delta retains her harsh and intimidating demeanor, a fitting characteristic for her immense power.
