Boruto: Kishimoto May Have Already Revealed the Next Rasengan User After Boruto

The Rasengan is a hugely popular technique, both in the original *Naruto* series and its sequel, *Boruto*. Originally created by Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, it has since been improved upon, with the most recent version, the Rasengan Uzuhiko, appearing in *Boruto*. The Rasengan continues to develop over time, so it’s likely we’ll see even more powerful versions used by future characters after Boruto Uzumaki.

In chapter 2 of *Boruto: Two Blue Vortex*, Boruto Uzumaki introduced a new technique called Rasengan Uzuhiko. This version of Rasengan is different from others because it uses the chakra of an entire planet, as demonstrated in his battle with Code, who was severely and permanently injured by it. Now, it seems Himawari Uzumaki may be the next character to learn Rasengan.

From Minato to Boruto

Over the years, Naruto and Boruto fans have seen many characters use the Rasengan. There’s even ongoing debate about who actually created it – some believe it was Minato Namikaze, while others think it was Ashura Otsutsuki. While the origins are debated, Minato is generally credited with inventing the Rasengan, as he developed and perfected the technique over three years.

The Rasengan technique actually got its name from Kushina Uzumaki. Minato had originally suggested a much longer and more complicated name – something like ‘Halo Frozen Dessert Hair Whorl Jiraiya Twin Formula Sphere’ – but Kushina rejected it. Thankfully, she came up with the shorter, more impactful name we know today. It’s hard to picture anyone seriously using a name like ‘Halo Frozen Dessert Whorl’ during a fight!

The Rasengan technique has been taught to many ninja over the years, and each generation has put their own spin on it. Naruto Uzumaki particularly advanced the Rasengan, creating powerful variations like the Rasenshuriken, Rasengan used in Nine-Tails Mode, and even the Super Ultra Big Ball Rasengan. Naruto’s son, Boruto Uzumaki, also created his own unique versions, including the Vanishing Rasengan and the Rasengan Uzuhiko.

Kurama Could Teach Himawari How to Use It

Watching the latest arc of Boruto, I’m really starting to see Himawari Uzumaki as a character to keep a close eye on. It’s been revealed she’s something incredibly rare – essentially a living, breathing tailed beast. But it’s important to understand this isn’t the same as her dad, Naruto, being a jinchuriki. She’s more like the Shinju, the original Ten-Tails, a complete embodiment of that power.

Essentially, Himawari and Kurama are connected as a single being, sharing a core energy and life force – a connection the manga hasn’t fully explained yet. Because of this, it wouldn’t be shocking if Himawari Uzumaki eventually learns the Rasengan with Kurama’s help. Kurama has, after all, seen the Rasengan develop over time and understands it intimately.

Himawari Uzumaki’s Rasengan could be unique, not just a copy of her father or brother’s. If she develops it, fans would be thrilled, particularly if her version is more powerful than Boruto’s. Considering her incredible talent, it’s likely she’d create a very strong Rasengan.

Naruto Uzumaki Is Still the Strongest Rasengan User

Naruto Has Evolved Rasengan in Extraordinary Ways

Even with the new Rasengan techniques Boruto has learned, Naruto Uzumaki remains the most skilled Rasengan user. While Boruto’s Rasengan shows promise, it’s not yet fully developed. He still needs to fully control its power, and the dangerous impact it has on opponents, to reach Naruto’s level. With enough training, though, Boruto might eventually surpass him.

Boruto needs to refine his Rasengan technique to be effective against opponents like Jura, who can easily counter it. Jura’s understanding of the Rasengan’s principles highlights its weaknesses. Perhaps Himawari could even develop a more powerful version of Rasengan, incorporating new elements and improvements to make it impossible to neutralize.
