Boruto: Kishimoto Officially Gives Sasuke Uchiha A New Sword Upgrade

The current arc of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is really exciting, and it looks like the series will stay strong in the months ahead. We’re seeing battles being prepared and new abilities being shown off. Recently, the story has kicked off a new phase, and the main characters are now getting ready for what’s coming next.

Similar to how Kawaki asked Amado to enhance his abilities, Boruto Uzumaki visited Sumire to improve Sasuke’s sword. Chapter 28 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex now reveals the details of this upgrade, and it promises a significant power boost for Sasuke upon his return. Currently, Boruto will wield the upgraded sword, now a katana, but it will eventually be passed on to Sasuke, resulting in a dramatically more powerful version of the character.

Sumire Has Upgraded Sasuke’s Beloved Sword

As many fans of the Boruto series are aware, Sasuke Uchiha is currently unable to fight. This happened after the timeskip, when Code attacked both Sasuke and Boruto. Sasuke managed to protect Boruto, but at a great cost – he was transformed into a tree after Code absorbed his chakra, which led to the birth of the Shinju Hidari. While he successfully fought back against Code, the process left him incapacitated.

Boruto Uzumaki has now taken possession of Sasuke Uchiha’s sword. While fans expect Boruto to eventually give it back – as it’s Sasuke’s main weapon – he’ll likely return a more powerful version than the one he received.

In chapter 28 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Sumire has completely rebuilt the sword, leaving only the handle original. The blade itself is made from a new material that automatically absorbs a user’s chakra and maintains the Uchiha Kenjutsu technique, Hagoromo, without any effort. However, this only works with the chakra of Sasuke, Boruto, or Sumire; anyone else would have all their chakra drained. Additionally, Sumire significantly increased the sword’s strength and cutting power. This new material gives the sword different properties, and more details about it will be revealed later in the series.

Sasuke’s Sword Is Now A Scientific Ninja Tool

Sasuke’s sword has essentially become a high-tech ninja weapon, a concept introduced earlier in the story. It’s good to see this idea revisited. Once Sasuke reclaims his sword, it will be incredibly powerful, able to cut through nearly anything while also being constantly covered in chakra. This allows Sasuke to control his chakra easily and consistently, without interruption.

Sasuke Will Be Stronger Than Ever Before With His New Blade

When Sasuke Uchiha returns, he’s sure to be incredibly powerful. He’s grown much stronger during the time that’s passed, and his new sword will make him even more formidable. Whether he’s channeling lightning chakra or regular chakra, the sword’s edge will be sharper and more dangerous than ever before. While it might take some getting used to, as it doesn’t perfectly match his usual fighting style, this sword will significantly increase Sasuke’s power, and it won’t be long before he’s able to master it.

Currently, Boruto has the sword and will use it to battle the Shinju and keep Sarada safe. But eventually, he’ll give it back to its original owner, Sasuke. Fans are excited to see this happen, though it may be a while before it does.
