This article contains spoilers from the Boruto Series.
Over the span of the Naruto saga, I’ve witnessed an impressive array of powerful ninjas emerge. From legendary figures like Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, who were active even before the establishment of ninja villages, to modern heroes such as Naruto Uzumaki, whose strength has saved the world from impending catastrophe, the Naruto universe is filled with individuals who truly embody power.
In summary, throughout the Naruto series, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha stood as the most powerful ninjas. They continually challenged each other to reach new heights and, during the Fourth Great Ninja War, were granted Six Paths Powers, solidifying their status as the strongest shinobi. However, it’s been revealed by Masashi Kishimoto that in the continuation of the story (Boruto), Naruto’s son, Boruto Uzumaki, has surpassed both his father and Sasuke in strength.
Boruto Uzumaki Has Surpassed The Current Naruto And Sasuke
Boruto Uzumaki Was Trained By Sasuke And Kashin Koji
- Naruto and Sasuke lost their powers
- Boruto has grown stronger since then
To grasp why Boruto Uzumaki has exceeded Naruto and Sasuke, it’s essential to examine the present state of the ninja world. With Kara’s power surge and the Otsutsuki’s significant disclosures, it was inevitable that Naruto and Sasuke would face trials in Boruto, and they indeed did. Although they demonstrated their value, they temporarily lost their abilities.
Naruto, don’t forget, we’re not what we used to be. — Sasuke Uchiha
In the pivotal fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki, Naruto Uzumaki found himself in a crucial predicament where he had to relinquish Kurama’s power to emerge victorious. As a result, Naruto lost Kurama and became severely weakened. Simultaneously, Sasuke Uchiha also suffered a significant loss during the same battle when Momoshiki Otsutsuki gouged out his Rinnegan-bearing eye. This debilitating event provided Boruto Uzumaki with an opportunity to surpass Sasuke.
In the span between Boruto episodes, I found myself observing Boruto Uzumaki undergoing intense training from no other than Sasuke Uchiha for well over a year. Unfortunately, Sasuke fell into incapacitation, but that didn’t halt Boruto’s progress. Instead, Kashin Koji took over and pushed Boruto even further, instilling in him an arsenal of new Jutsu. Fast-forwarding three years, I can attest to the fact that Boruto Uzumaki has never been stronger – he’s surpassed both Naruto and Sasuke in power, a testament to his unyielding training.
Uncle Sasuke, I will save you no matter what! — Boruto Uzumaki
Naruto and Sasuke Are Still Stronger In Their Primes
The Duo Is Untouchable In Strength
In the current storyline of Boruto, it’s clear that Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha are noticeably weaker than they were during their peak years. Yet, when these characters were at their strongest, they were unmatched in power. At present, Naruto is significantly stronger than Boruto, and the same can be said for Sasuke Uchiha. However, it’s important to remember that Boruto has a great potential to surpass them, but he still lags behind their prime selves at this moment.
The upcoming 26th chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2025. You can catch it at 10 AM Eastern Standard Time or 3 PM Coordinated Universal Time. As usual, enthusiasts can enjoy the chapter for free via the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
