Boruto: Kishimoto Reveals A New Character Stronger Than Naruto And Sasuke

This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

The Boruto series has been gaining a lot of attention recently, and the start of the new story arc has introduced some compelling new villains. Currently, the focus is on Mamushi, a powerful being from the Shinju clan who wants to become even stronger by absorbing certain individuals. As the main villain of this arc, Mamushi’s abilities are being highlighted, and he’s proving to be exceptionally strong.

Both Kishimoto and Ikemoto have confirmed that Mamushi is now stronger than Naruto Uzumaki. If he keeps getting more powerful, he could easily become the strongest character in the entire Naruto series, which is a frightening thought.

Kishimoto Confirms Mamushi Is Stronger Than Naruto

By the end of the Naruto series and even at the start of Boruto, Naruto Uzumaki was incredibly powerful, thanks to Kurama and the powers of the Six Paths, making him nearly impossible to defeat in battle. However, Naruto has since lost these abilities and is now sealed away by Kawaki. Meanwhile, Mamushi is steadily gaining strength and possesses a power that closely resembles what Naruto once had.

Kashin Koji warned Shikamaru that Mamushi, despite having a straightforward ability, is a dangerous opponent who needs to be approached with caution.

Like Naruto’s Shadow Clones, Mamushi can create multiple copies of himself. But unlike Naruto, each of Mamushi’s clones is fully independent and doesn’t weaken his overall power. This makes his ability significantly stronger. The only drawback is that with each clone he creates, his intelligence decreases.

Kashin Koji warns that Mamushi possesses a frightening power: he can create an unlimited number of perfect duplicates of himself, unlike simple shadow clones.

Putting that aside, Kashin Koji’s vision strongly suggests that Mamushi will ultimately defeat and consume Eida, and this has massive implications. If he does, he’ll gain Omnipotence – the most powerful Shinjutsu ability. This would give him nearly limitless power and the ability to do anything he wants, especially if he masters it. Essentially, he’d become far more powerful than Boruto, Kawaki, or even Naruto.

Mamushi Can Evolve And Destroy The World

If Mamushi manages to absorb Eida’s power, he’ll gain an incredibly dangerous ability – potentially one strong enough to destroy the planet. This could even make him surpass Jura in strength. It’s currently uncertain whether he can absorb her, as the future is always subject to change, but the story is clearly heading toward a very perilous situation.

Kashin Koji told Inojin he wanted to find a way to change what’s going to happen, so that Eida and Himawari would survive.

Mamushi Isn’t Comparable To Jura Right Now

It’s not surprising that Mamushi is more powerful than Naruto. The Shinju, even without Eida’s abilities, are all confirmed to be stronger than Code, who already surpassed Jigen – the same Jigen who defeated both Naruto and Sasuke. So, seeing Mamushi, even in his current form, outmatch Naruto isn’t a shock. However, if Mamushi continues to evolve, he’ll become an incredibly dangerous opponent.

I know it’s not a good thing to do, but battling powerful opponents like you really excites me.—Jura to Boruto

Currently, Mamushi isn’t nearly as powerful as Jura, who is the strongest of the Shinju. While Mamushi could become stronger later in the story, Jura is still the most powerful character in the series, and it will be interesting to see what the author does with him.

The next chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, chapter 29, will be released on December 18, 2025, at 10 AM Eastern Time / 3 PM Coordinated Universal Time. Fans can read it for free on the official Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
