This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
Madara Uchiha is one of the most powerful shinobi in the world of Naruto. He was initially presented as an unmatched legend, and even the powerful Kurama feared him. This immediately signaled to fans that Madara was nearly invincible.
The Boruto series has officially revealed a ninja who’s stronger than even Madara, and that’s Naruto Uzumaki’s son, Boruto. While still developing his abilities, Boruto has already surpassed even the most powerful Uchiha.
Madara Uchiha Has Been Surpassed By Boruto Uzumaki Already
Madara Uchiha was undeniably one of the most powerful ninja in the Naruto universe. As the reincarnation of Indra, he possessed incredible natural talent. Combined with his intelligence and relentless training, he became a supremely skilled warrior. He and Hashirama were clearly the strongest of their time, but Madara continued to push his limits.
I watched as Madara put a plan into action, one that led him to become the host of the Ten Tails and ultimately reach incredible power. By the end of the series, his strength was nearly unmatched – truly phenomenal. Though he was eventually defeated, his impact was immense. Very few ninja have ever come close to matching his abilities, with Naruto and Sasuke being the most notable exceptions.
Light always comes with darkness, and success always means someone else’s defeat. The pursuit of peace, when driven by self-interest, often leads to conflict. Even love can spring from hatred. – Madara Uchiha, Naruto
The series Boruto is consistently introducing extremely powerful characters. Not only that, but the new generation of ninja are also depicted as remarkably strong. For instance, Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto’s son, has been established as exceeding even the power of Madara.
Boruto is incredibly powerful, having been personally trained by Sasuke. He’s mastered everything Sasuke knows, and on top of that, he’s learned skills from versions of himself across different timelines. This combination makes him the most skilled and capable version of himself possible.
The Boruto series has established that Boruto Uzumaki is significantly more powerful than Code, a major threat with Otsutsuki-level abilities. He’s even capable of battling and defeating the Shinju, making him exceptionally strong.
Boruto Has Yet To Reveal His Full Power With Karma
It’s important to remember that Boruto is still growing as a ninja. He possesses the Karma mark from Momoshiki Otsutsuki, which contains the Otsutsuki clan’s DNA and will eventually unlock incredible power.
Sasuke tells Boruto not to focus on who Naruto used to be, with all his past struggles. Instead, he wants Boruto to recognize and understand the Naruto who overcame those challenges and achieved greatness.
Boruto will inherit all of Momoshiki’s abilities and fighting style, which will ultimately allow him to surpass even Madara Uchiha. We’ve already seen hints of this power in chapter 28 of Two Blue Vortex, and at his full potential, Boruto is stronger than not only Madara, but also Naruto and Sasuke.
Boruto’s Peak Will Make Him The Strongest Shinobi Ever
It’s becoming increasingly obvious in the Boruto series that the creator, Kishimoto, intends for Boruto Uzumaki to become the most powerful ninja of all time. Fans likely won’t be surprised by this, as a central theme throughout the Naruto franchise is that each new generation will ultimately exceed the abilities of those who came before them.
Boruto is destined to become incredibly powerful, eventually surpassing even the Otsutsuki clan members like Momoshiki, by fully mastering his Jutsu and Karma. He’ll even overcome Kawaki, who possesses the immense power of Isshiki Otsutsuki – a power that previously forced Naruto to use the dangerous Baryon Mode to win.
Boruto is destined to become even more powerful than Madara, and that’s important to remember when comparing their abilities. Despite how strong Madara is, Boruto will ultimately exceed his level.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is the continuation of the Boruto story, created by Mikio Ikemoto and overseen by Masashi Kishimoto. The series picks up three years after the events of the Omnipotence arc, and follows Boruto Uzumaki as he strives to protect the world, alongside his brother Kawaki. Chapter 29 is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2025, at 10 AM EST / 3 PM UTC. Fans can read the chapter officially and for free on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
