Naruto Uzumaki is incredibly popular, not just within his own show, but throughout the entire world of anime. While fans recognize Naruto as exceptionally strong, they also admire his unwavering determination and his ability to overcome any challenge. These qualities are the main reasons he’s so beloved. Sadly, the *Boruto* series hasn’t treated Naruto as well as fans would hope, which is disappointing.

The current *Boruto* storyline has effectively removed Naruto Uzumaki from the central plot, leaving him powerless and sealed away. This means the village he swore to protect is currently without its main defender. However, the creators, Kishimoto and Ikemoto, haven’t left Konoha completely vulnerable. Fans know Konoha now has a new leader to fill Naruto’s role, though he isn’t as strong or well-known. Shikamaru Nara has officially taken over as acting Hokage, stepping into Naruto’s position after a powerful force rendered him incapacitated.

Everyone acknowledges Shikamaru’s intelligence – he’s arguably the best advisor Konoha has. However, I’ve noticed he really struggles when it comes to actually leading people, and he doesn’t seem to have the strength to be a strong leader either. Honestly, I don’t think he’s suited to take over from Naruto, and I doubt he’ll be Hokage for very long. Right now, he’s in trouble with the village elders because he supported Boruto, and it’s looking more and more like he’s going to lose his position.

Although Shikamaru Nara is currently the leader of Konoha, most fans believe Sarada Uchiha will eventually take over Naruto Uzumaki’s role. Like Naruto, Sarada aspires to become Hokage and is determined to reach the top. The recent development of her Mangekyo Sharingan has brought her closer to that goal, but she still needs time to mature. In the coming years, Sarada will likely gain the experience and skill necessary to become Hokage, and she may even become the youngest person to ever hold the position.

Boruto began as a continuation of the popular Naruto series, and it’s been challenging to establish its own identity because of Naruto’s huge success. Now, Boruto is really stepping up as a main character. Whether he’ll become a hero as great as his father, or even better, remains to be seen. Honestly, even I don’t know what the future holds!
