This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Summary
- Sasuke Uchiha trained hard during the timeskip to surpass Naruto Uzumaki.
- Both Naruto and Sasuke were equal in adulthood according to the author.
- Sasuke’s growth in strength during the Two Blue Vortex timeskip confirms his superiority over Naruto.
In the world of Naruto, Sasuke Uchiha stands among the most powerful characters, and he also serves as Naruto’s main rival. Despite their brotherly bond, they have consistently competed against each other throughout the series. Their rivalry extends into the Boruto series too, as they both acknowledged it during their battle with Momoshiki. Naturally, fans are curious to know which of them is stronger in Boruto.
Throughout our shared journey, Naruto and Sasuke have been locked in a fierce competition, often swapping leads. However, moments arise where one outpaces the other, only for them to eventually catch up again. Lately, this pattern seems to have repeated itself in Boruto, and it appears increasingly likely that Sasuke Uchiha has now surpassed Naruto for good, solidifying his position as the stronger of the two.
How Sasuke Caught Up To Naruto
- Sasuke Uchiha Trained During The Timeskip
- Both Are Equal By Adulthood
After the Fourth Great Ninja War, it became evident to fans that Naruto Uzumaki had outstripped Sasuke in terms of strength. In truth, during the war itself, Naruto’s performance was superior, and the general consensus was that he was stronger. This became clear during their final confrontation where Sasuke needed the power of the Tailed Beasts to compete with Naruto’s own power, but still couldn’t secure victory. Furthermore, despite being involved in the war for a longer duration, Naruto delivered an impressive performance against Sasuke and eventually equaled him in battle. Post-war complications arose as Sasuke sustained an injury that resulted in the loss of one hand, which weakened him in combat.
I admit it. I lost – Sasuke Uchiha
During the course of events, Naruto acquired a new arm, yet his strength extended beyond just an additional limb. In truth, he also obtained the other half of Kurama, which had been sealed externally during his fight against Sasuke. Having half of Kurama significantly boosted Naruto’s power, and it was evident to fans that he had now attained a higher level of strength. This development, however, did not bode well for Sasuke because he was visibly weaker compared to Naruto. However, it is worth noting that during the undefined time span, Sasuke dedicated himself so intensely to mental and physical training that despite his handicap, he was capable of equaling the might of the Seventh Hokage.
Initially in Boruto, Naruto and Sasuke share equal strength according to the author’s assertion. However, as the story progresses, their power levels fluctuate significantly, particularly for Sasuke. This discrepancy is noticeable during their intense battle against Isshiki.
Baryon Mode And What It Meant For Sasuke
Naruto Gaining Baryon Mode Gave Him A New Peak
Initially in the Boruto series, Naruto and Sasuke were evenly matched, a fact confirmed by their creator Kishimoto. However, this balance didn’t last throughout their journey. In their fight against Jigen, both characters suffered humiliation, with Naruto Uzumaki being sealed and Sasuke managing to escape. After being rescued by Team 7, a battle with Isshiki Otsutsuki was instigated by Koji, which turned out to be thrilling. From the start, Naruto and Sasuke struggled against Isshiki’s formidable powers, but it wasn’t until Naruto activated Baryon Mode that they gained the upper hand. Once Naruto used Baryon Mode, Isshiki found it almost impossible to counter him.
Come, Otsutsuki! I’ll show you what true resolve means. – Naruto Uzumaki
In summary, Naruto surpassed his opponent, a fact acknowledged by Sasuke, which also implied that Sasuke was not as strong as the Seventh Hokage at that point. The battle culminated in Naruto’s dominance, with Kawaki dealing the final blow to Isshiki. However, this victory came at a cost for Naruto; he lost his ability to access Kurama completely. Similarly, Sasuke lost his Rinnegan and was left without his major power-ups as well.
It’s worth noting that while both Naruto and Sasuke appear to be on par at this juncture, it’s important to consider that Sasuke retains a significant edge due to his possession of one Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. This artifact grants him the ability to wield powers such as Amaterasu, Flame Control, Genjutsu, and even a Full Body Susanoo. In contrast, Naruto is limited to Sage Mode, which, at present, doesn’t measure up to the capabilities of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.
In numerous aspects, Sasuke proved to be stronger than Naruto following the departure of Kurama. However, this difference in power wasn’t significant. As the story progressed, it became evident that the authors would eventually make Naruto as strong as Sasuke. Yet, what followed suggested that Sasuke Uchiha surpassed Naruto Uzumaki permanently. Consequently, if Naruto, the Seventh Hokage, ever escapes the realm of Daikokuten, he’d have to work hard to match Sasuke’s strength.
How Sasuke Surpassed Naruto Uzumaki
Sasuke And Boruto Trained Harder
During the Two Blue Vortex era of the series, it became clear to fans that Sasuke Uchiha surpassed Naruto Uzumaki in terms of power and skill. This revelation was made evident in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Following Omnipotence’s attack on Konoha, Sasuke and Boruto fled together, with their primary objective being to enhance their abilities.
Initially, it was assumed that Sasuke solely trained Boruto for the sake of Boruto Uzumaki. However, recent data from a book has shed light on this assumption. It appears that both Boruto and Sasuke engaged in joint training during this period, and their combined efforts significantly boosted their strength levels.
This growth was particularly noticeable during Sasuke’s battle against Code. The intensity of this fight served as a testament to the significant increase in Sasuke’s power that occurred during their time together.
Fans need to keep in mind that following the removal of his Limiters, Code should be as powerful, if not more so, than Jigen. In their prime, Jigen was capable of overpowering both Naruto and Sasuke simultaneously, even when they had their maximum abilities at their disposal – Naruto with Kurama and Sasuke with the Rinnegan. However, neither of them could harm Jigen in the slightest. Conversely, during the Two Blue Vortex timeskip, Sasuke was able to engage Code in a fierce battle and even manage to take one of his eyes, despite Code having multiple Claw Grimes on his side.
In due course, Sasuke gave up his life to shield Boruto Uzumaki, ultimately succumbing to the Claw Grimes’ attack. However, it’s worth noting that in this confrontation, Sasuke managed to corner Code, whereas against Jigen, he was unable to inflict any damage at all. This suggests a significant increase in Sasuke’s power levels since the timeskip. As of now, Sasuke is noticeably stronger than Naruto Uzumaki. If the Seventh Hokage reappears in the series, he will need to undergo rigorous training and strengthen himself considerably to match up with Sasuke.
