Boruto: The Upcoming Major Deaths In The Series, Explained

This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

Summary

  • Boruto series is taking a darker approach with inevitable deaths expected.
  • Ikemoto wants to kill off characters to move the plot forward and create shock.
  • Characters from the old generation, including Naruto and Sasuke, are likely targets for major deaths.

I’ve been absolutely hooked on the new Boruto series, “Two Blue Vortex,” which has truly elevated the franchise! Compared to the original Boruto, while it was thrilling, it had its moments of unevenness, particularly towards the finale that left many fans feeling a bit let down. However, “Two Blue Vortex” has rejuvenated the series, even if it’s not yet reaching the heights we fans hope for. The storyline is more engaging than ever before, and the tension is higher than I’ve ever experienced in this world!

Since the author has significantly boosted the abilities of the main characters and brought in formidable antagonists, it’s highly probable that there will be numerous intense conflicts ahead. These confrontations could lead to more casualties, implying that fans can expect significant character deaths in the future, particularly those who were crucial in the Naruto saga. Consequently, the storyline for Boruto is shaping up to become increasingly dark and ominous.

The Inevitable Deaths To Come In Boruto

  • The Boruto Series Continues To Take A Darker Approach
  • Ikemoto Wants To Kill Off Characters

In the anime series ‘Boruto‘, many characters are expected to meet their end. Contrary to expectations, no significant characters died in the initial phase of the show. This could be a reflection of the ‘Naruto’ series, where most deaths occurred during the latter part of the narrative. It seems that the story arc known as the ‘Two Blue Vortex‘ might follow a similar pattern.

A shinobi’s true worth is measured not by how he lives, but by how he dies. – Jiraiya

In the anime series “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex,” it’s evident that several characters may meet their end, a fact hinted at earlier in the storyline. Given the significance of prophecies in the Boruto universe, Momoshiki’s warnings portend doom for many characters. He made it clear to Boruto that he would suffer losses in the future, which was evident with Omnipotence. Moreover, Momoshiki hinted at a bleak fate for Boruto, suggesting that he will lose more people in his life. However, as of now, we are unaware of who these individuals might be.

In the world of my favorite series, it’s crucial to identify which characters are safe and which might meet their end. For starters, you can count on Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki – they’re our main trio, and their stories are far from over. However, there are characters who seem to be heading towards a self-sacrificing fate, like Kawaki. Though he’s a key player, his actions suggest he might lay down his life for others if nothing changes. But let me stress, everyone else seems to be walking with a death flag over their heads, especially the new members of Kara and the veterans from the old generation.

Why The Characters Of The Old Generation Are In Danger

Deaths Of Characters Who Fans Love Will Hurt The Most

In the anime series Boruto, it’s possible that some older characters may pass away. However, it’s essential to distinguish between characters who have minimal impact on the story and those who are significant. For example, Kakashi, Team 10, and Team 8 members hold little relevance in Boruto. They have barely appeared throughout the series, and their significance is dwindling. If these characters were to die, it wouldn’t make much of an emotional impact on the audience because they are not central figures in the Boruto storyline.

Come, Otsutsuki! I’ll show you what true resolve is. – Naruto Uzumaki

On the contrary, figures like Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, along with other elders who have played roles, albeit minor or major, in Boruto‘s storyline – such as Sai, Shikamaru, and even Sakura – are expected to leave a significant mark. Their demise could be imminent.

An author like Ikemoto incorporates death into a story primarily to advance the plot and provide impact, either eliciting shock and deep sorrow from readers or propelling the plot forward through various exciting developments for the main character, or both. As such, only characters who have significant roles in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex are at risk of encountering this danger.

Who Will Die In Boruto?

Ikemoto Has Already Decided Who He Wants To Kill

In the anime series Boruto, speculation among fans runs high about which characters might meet their end. For a long time now, Naruto Uzumaki has been seen as particularly at risk, with strong hints that his creator, Ikemoto, may be following Kishimoto’s suggestion to write off older characters. Although no specific character has been named by Ikemoto yet, the possibility of Naruto Uzumaki being among them is quite strong. So far, Ikemoto hasn’t killed off any main characters in Boruto, but as the story progresses, he may decide to follow Kishimoto’s vision and eliminate more characters. Similarly, Sasuke has experienced loss many times throughout the series, and there’s a possibility that he might face even more hardships, potentially leading to his own demise.

Among all the characters in Boruto, it’s Kashin Koji, Daemon, and Ada who appear to be most at risk of meeting their end. These relatively new characters have been central to some thrilling storylines. For instance, Kashin Koji is deeply committed to saving the world, while Ada is gradually understanding her own value and emotions. As for Daemon, we can expect his character development to grow in future episodes.

In the upcoming events, these characters may find themselves at a critical juncture. From that point onwards, the author holds the reins. Just as Jiraiya did before him, Koji seems destined to bid farewell in Boruto, along with Ada and Daemon.

If we interpret Konoha’s destruction as a literal event, it might lead to the demise of significant characters from the previous generation, ranging from Naruto Uzumaki to newer characters like Shikadai, and many others. Masashi Kishimoto may choose which characters to eliminate, but it seems likely that there will be numerous casualties among the characters in Boruto in the near future.

You can easily access Boruto manga through Viz Media. Fans can officially and without charge read it on the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps. The next chapter of Boruto, titled “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 19,” is scheduled to be released on February 20, 2025.
