In the sequel known as Two Blue Vortex, commonly referred to as Boruto Part 2, the narrative remains intense and fans anticipate even more thrilling developments. At present, the ominous presence of the Shinju is a central focus, and it’s evident that this formidable entity possesses enough power to annihilate the world.

This formidable horde of monsters was destined to create numerous issues for the ninjas, and they’ve definitely done so throughout the recent chapters. In the skirmishes waged against them, it’s been evident that many casualties have occurred – a fact not unexpected in high-risk battles.

Ryu And Matsuri Have Officially Fallen In Battle

Boruto – The Twin Whirlpools

At long last, the narrative in Boruto: The Twin Whirlpools has reached a pivotal point, with the first significant deaths occurring – those of the two Shinju residing in the Land of Wind. For those who follow the story closely, Matsuri and Ryu were dispatched to the Land of Wind and found themselves at odds with Team 7 and the Sand ninjas. The ensuing confrontations quickly escalated, as Konohamaru handled Matsuri, while a coalition of younger ninjas focused their efforts on Ryu.

You dare trick me, Konohamaru? I will not spare you! — Matsuri

Initially, it was Ryu who succumbed in the battle; an unexpected turn of events, as he had vanquished most of his ninja adversaries. However, it was Sarada Uchiha who ultimately proved to be his undoing. This was following the awakening of her Mangekyo Sharingan, a sight that left many in awe.

Simultaneously, Konohamaru had the opportunity to eliminate Matsuri, yet held back at the crucial instant. This prompted Matsuri to retaliate, but the situation was turned around when Boruto Uzumaki intervened, ultimately taking Matsuri’s life instead.

It’s important to mention that two Thorn Soul Bulbs – one belonging to Ryu and the other to Matsuri – are likely to be found in this location. Since we saw Ryu’s bulb after his fall, Shinki can now be rescued. Meanwhile, it’s certain that Konohamaru will retrieve Matsuri’s Thorn Soul Bulb. It should also be noted that these deaths are irreversible.

Yodo Was The Ninja Casualty Of The Mission

Ryu Used His Powers To Kill Yodo

In the anime Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it was predominantly the Shinju who suffered heavy casualties. However, this victory didn’t come without a cost. As revealed in chapter 21, one of the Sand Ninjas, Yodo, sacrificed her life to protect Shinki, which played a crucial role in allowing Sarada to access the powers of the Mangekyo Sharingan initially. Boruto confirmed that Yodo had perished, indicating that she can no longer be revived unless an extraordinary event occurs in future chapters.

Did you know Yodo would die in battle, Koji? Answer me! — Boruto Uzumaki

More Deaths To Follow In Boruto

Despite this, the situation seems poised to deteriorate further since it appears that Jura is planning to travel to the Land of Wind. Given his connection to the Claw Marks, transporting to where Boruto Uzumaki resides should be a straightforward process for him, as he has identified Boruto as his objective. This could potentially set up the first battle between Boruto Uzumaki and Jura in fans’ eyes, and according to Koji’s earlier remarks, this confrontation will not bode well for young Boruto Uzumaki.
