Chapter 34 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex was released in V Jump Issue #7 on May 20, 2026. Fans, including myself, were eagerly anticipating this new installment, especially after last month’s chapter wrapped up the Mamushi arc. With the groundwork laid by Ikemoto and Kishimoto – including Sarada’s critical state from overusing her Mangekyo Sharingan and Inojin’s significant sacrifice – readers worldwide were left wondering where the story would go next.
The story handled everything well, but I was especially impressed with how Sarada Uchiha’s development is progressing. The recent chapters officially connect her to both her father, Sasuke, and her uncle, Itachi. In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34, the author made it clear that Sarada is now the true inheritor of both of their legacies, each in her own way.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34 Sees Sakura Confirm Sarada Uchiha As Itachi and Sasuke’s Heir
Sarada Uchiha is positioned as the future of the Uchiha clan in the Boruto series, and was originally designed by Masashi Kishimoto to be the main female character. While her story has had its moments, a major weakness has been a lack of in-depth exploration and development. Especially early on, Sarada’s character felt underdeveloped compared to Boruto and Kawaki, who were consistently the central focus, leaving other characters, including Sarada, with less attention.
Although she had some exciting moments, like her battles against Boro, she generally didn’t make a strong impression. Fortunately, the creators, Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto, have significantly improved her character in the Two Blue Vortex series. In the first 34 chapters alone, she’s received a lot of focus, which is fantastic for me and other fans of Sarada.
Chapter 34 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex solidified Sarada Uchiha’s position as the true heir to both Sasuke and Itachi Uchiha. The chapter highlighted Sarada’s remarkable resilience and determination, mirroring Sasuke’s own journey. Like her father, Sarada consistently faces overwhelming challenges and pushes beyond her limits, which explains her growing strength. This echoes Sasuke’s defining characteristic – overcoming impossible odds – and Sakura officially confirms this parallel in the latest chapter, delighting fans of Sarada.
Sakura Haruno observes that, like your father, you consistently face overwhelming challenges, even when it comes at a great personal cost.
Chapter 34 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex connected Sarada Uchiha to Itachi Uchiha, highlighting a shared trait: self-sacrifice. Itachi famously made immense personal sacrifices for the sake of Konoha, remaining true to his beliefs despite facing criticism and shame. Sarada demonstrates a similar willingness to put herself in danger for others, even for Boruto, who is currently seen as a criminal. Sakura Haruno points out this resemblance, confirming that Sarada truly carries on Itachi’s legacy.
Sakura Haruno advises to keep moving ahead and not let anyone shame you, reminding you to be like your uncle.
Why Sarada’s Resolve As A Shinobi Makes Her The Perfect Future Uchiha Leader
Fans of Boruto are thrilled to see Sarada taking a more central role in the Two Blue Vortex manga. While her story is still unfolding, the new arc, which began on May 20, 2026, promises significant character development for her. With Code now focused on Sarada and Hidari emerging as a major threat, she’s poised to be a key figure – potentially even the protagonist – of this new storyline. It’s exciting to anticipate how her character will grow!
You know, seeing Sarada and Sakura interact really gets to me. Sakura wasn’t going to ask Sarada to give up her drive – that strength came from Sarada deciding she needed power to achieve her goals and protect the things she cares about. It’s awesome that Sakura recognizes and respects that; it’s like she’s saying, ‘That power is yours because you chose it.’ It’s a really powerful moment.
After years of watching Naruto, especially the characters of Sasuke and Itachi, I believe Sarada embodies the best qualities of both. She has Itachi’s kindness and willingness to put others first, combined with Sasuke’s strong will and determination. Because she isn’t burdened by the same hatred that plagued her ancestors, Sarada is, in my opinion, the ideal leader to restore the Uchiha clan to its former greatness – a leader unlike any the clan has ever known. The Uchiha clan is now a shadow of what it once was, and Sarada has the potential to truly lead it to a glorious future.

Sarada Uchiha Has The Tools To Surpass Both Sasuke And Itachi In Boruto
Sarada Uchiha is already one of the most powerful ninjas in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Her Mangekyou Sharingan, called Ohirume, lets her create four incredibly strong black holes that can easily defeat even powerful opponents like the Otsutsuki clan and the Shinju. However, she’s still developing her abilities, and the author, Mikio Ikemoto, has hinted at a significant power increase for her in chapter 34 of the manga, suggesting she will become even stronger.
This chapter revealed that Sarada is losing her sight, creating an urgent need for a cure. Overcoming this challenge could unlock incredible power within her, potentially allowing her to exceed the abilities of both her father, Sasuke, and her uncle, Itachi, ultimately making her the strongest Uchiha ever.
Sakura explained to Sarada that using the Mangekyo Sharingan always carries a dangerous side effect: gradual vision loss. While the speed of this loss can vary depending on how you use it, continued use will inevitably lead to complete blindness.
It’s been amazing to watch Sarada develop as a character throughout the ten years Boruto has been running. We’re all glad that Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto are giving her story the attention it deserves. The next story arc will be crucial for Sarada, and fans are excited to see Kishimoto and Ikemoto explore her character even further, especially now that it’s been revealed she’s the successor to both Itachi and Sasuke.
I’ve been following Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, and the newest chapters illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto and written with Masashi Kishimoto are now available. You can find them on both Manga Plus and Viz Media.
