Nintendo Switch players will be able to enjoy the latest game in the Paranormasight mystery series, Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse, very soon. It’s launching on February 19th, so fans won’t have to wait long to start playing!
The adventure game Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo first came out in March 2023 for Nintendo Switch, computers, and mobile phones. Created by Xeen and published by Square Enix, the game is set in 1980s Tokyo and follows several characters affected by a strange curse. Players investigate the curse by battling spirits and uncovering each character’s story over three days. Critics generally liked the game when it was released, and it has a very positive rating from players on Steam, with 95% expressing satisfaction, making it one of Square Enix’s top-rated games on the platform.
The Next Paranormasight Game Launches on Switch on February 19

Switch players will soon be able to continue the story of Paranormasight with the new chapter, Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse. Nintendo announced during their February 2026 Direct presentation that the game will launch on February 19th. Pre-orders will be available on the Nintendo eShop immediately after the announcement, two weeks before the game is released.
The game’s story unfolds around Ise Bay in Japan, a real location between Mie and Aichi prefectures. You play as Yuza Minakuchi, a young pearl diver investigating mermaid legends on a remote island. Things take a dark turn when Yuza meets a strange, underwater doppelganger, leading to a series of mysteries connected to an old local curse. It’s primarily a detective game, but with spooky, supernatural elements, and the visual novel style emphasizes building relationships with other characters affected by the curse.

Players who enjoyed Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo will likely find the gameplay in the sequel familiar. You’ll meet various island residents all impacted by a curse – like a girl with amnesia, treasure hunters, and a woman investigating local drownings.
