As a seasoned Zelda enthusiast and a connoisseur of brave heroes, I must say that each character you’ve mentioned has shown remarkable courage and selflessness in their own right. Yet, it is our humble hero, Link, who truly embodies the spirit of bravery that resonates deeply within me.

In The Legend of Zelda series, spanning from Calamity Ganon to the very edge of the world, players have encountered some truly fearsome foes and catastrophic events. Throughout the gameplay, the main adversary, Ganon, has been responsible for much of the malevolence. Yet amidst these chilling conflicts, there’s a delightful array of peculiar and endearing characters that enrich the gaming experience.

In numerous Zelda games produced by Nintendo over the past several decades, many characters have consistently taken a stance for their convictions. Whether they’re defending the underdog or protecting civilians during distressing times, it’s evident that Link isn’t alone in his efforts to combat evil within Hyrule. When considering the courageous characters who have joined forces with the player in upholding justice, there are several that immediately come to mind.

8 Bombers Secret Society Of Justice

Organizers Of Well-Meaning Antics

Bravest Zelda Characters

Originating from the distinctive and moody world of “The Legend of Zelda” game titled “Majora’s Mask”, the Bombers Secret Society of Justice is a band of six mischievous yet well-intentioned children dedicated to making their cherished town, Clock Town, a better place. As Link starts his adventure, players will encounter these kids early on. However, to become part of this group, you’ll need to locate the thoughtful kids in a challenging game of hide-and-seek hidden within the gameplay.

Amidst a troubling and undeniably scary period, this band of children are making efforts to resist the despair that has enveloped Clock Town. Their leader, Jim, is a fearless and extroverted figure with a tough exterior concealing a kind and courageous heart. Although they may not perform grand feats to prevent the moon from collapsing, their intentions certainly deserve recognition.

7 The Monster Control Crew

The Group That Stepped Up

Bravest Zelda Characters

When discussing individuals who rose to the challenge during difficult times, players should definitely consider Gralens and the Monster Control Team. This motley crew of volunteers, headed by researcher Gralens, is featured prominently in the renowned sequel, Tears of the Kingdom.

Following the legendary hero Link being placed in a slumber that erases his memories, and with monsters rampaging across the land, the citizens of Hyrule are left scrambling to survive. Bravely standing up to the marauding monster groups are the Monster Control Team, who have committed themselves to neutralizing these threats. Organized by Gralens, along with other crucial members such as Hoz, Toren, and Flaxel, these ordinary individuals courageously face danger daily in an effort to eliminate the massive bands of monsters that overwhelm specific regions of Hyrule. It cannot be overstated how much respect is due to these volunteers who willingly put their lives at stake.

6 Renado

Selfless And Brave Protector

Bravest Zelda Characters

Many people didn’t appreciate the Wii adaptations of Zelda, meaning not everyone might be acquainted with the array of characters from games such as Skyward Sword and Wind Waker 3D. However, it is the dark-toned Twilight Princess from GameCube and Wii that houses one of the bravest civilians in the history of Zelda.

In times of genuine darkness, Renado from Kakariko Village stands out as an exceptional individual who shows compassion and courage. He generously opens his home to children from Ordon Village following their harrowing encounters with King Bulblin. His kindness and protection are consistently evident. Moreover, he also welcomes Ralis and Illia into his care when Ralis is unwell, and looks after the young prince. It’s clear that Renado excels in empathy and bravery.

5 Princess Hilda

Committed And Courageous

Bravest Zelda Characters

“The colorful and invigorating sequel to Link to the Past, titled The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, features a host of quirky and lively characters. As its name implies, the game is divided into two realms: the well-known Hyrule, and its shadowy counterpart, Lorule. One intriguing revelation in any Zelda adventure comes when we learn that Princess Hilda, who guides Link throughout the game, is secretly working against him.”

Despite this twist, Princess Hilda isn’t exactly the villain she’s made out to be. After Lorule’s Triforce is destroyed, Hilda fights tooth and nail to restore her home, risking her life in a bid to obtain Hyrule’s Triforce and bring it back to Lorule. While she’s not exactly doing the right thing, there’s no denying that her bravery in the face of world-ending stakes is very impressive. It’s even more courageous that Hilda later has the insight to realize the error of her ways and assist Link in saving Hyrule. A selfless and intrepid character, even if she wasn’t always on the right side of the plot, Princess Hilda is absolutely a pillar of bravery.

4 The Champions

Hyrule’s Heroic Group

Bravest Zelda Characters

It’s not surprising at all that the valiant Champions of Hyrule, who are directly linked to the legendary Sages of the elements, stand out among characters in the series of The Legend of Zelda. These formidable warriors are selected to confront Calamity Ganon and prevent darkness from swallowing Hyrule.

In this rendition, four heroic figures – Urbosa, Revali, Daruk, and Mipha – pledge to fight alongside Link, using the ancient Divine Beasts in an effort to halt Calamity Ganon. Having shown great courage by willingness to risk their lives for Hyrule’s protection, these dedicated soldiers tragically fall in a sudden ambush set by Calamity Ganon. A century later, their spirits are reawakened by Link, and they choose to use their powers against evil once more. Few Zelda characters exhibit such consistent selflessness and bravery as these four do.

3 Impa

Loyal, Wise, Strong, And Consistent

Bravest Zelda Characters

For decades, the renowned character Impa has graced various versions of the popular game series, Zelda. From a sage old woman to a powerful sage, each portrayal of Impa exhibits heroism and bravery. Choosing just one notable example is challenging, but Impa’s appearance in Ocarina of Time, as Zelda’s faithful servant and the enigmatic Sage of Shadows, stands out.

In the game “The Ocarina of Time,” it’s strongly suggested that Impa plays a significant role in raising Princess Zelda when she was appointed as her advisor. She is among the few who trusts Zelda’s prophetic visions. During the attack on Hyrule Castle, Impa helps Zelda flee to safety and later trains her in combat skills similar to those of a Sheikah warrior. These skills prove crucial for Zelda’s survival during hard times and aid Link eventually. Throughout this period, Impa vigilantly monitors Kakariko Village, her hometown, and takes every opportunity to shield innocent people from harm. To add to her many roles, it is later disclosed that Impa is the Shadow Sage, activated by Link in the Temple of Shadows. She becomes one of the Sages who utilize their powers to imprison Ganon once Link vanquishes him. It can be concluded that Impa’s bravery, loyalty, and righteousness are clearly portrayed in her appearance in “The Ocarina of Time.”

2 Princess Zelda

Always Ready To Do What’s Right

Bravest Zelda Characters

In more current versions of the Zelda series, it’s clear that Princess Zelda has taken on a more prominent role compared to when the franchise began. While she’s always been pivotal in most games, players might be surprised to learn that she hasn’t had as many chances to showcase her unique character traits as they might expect. The recent game, Tears of the Kingdom, however, offers an exceptional portrayal of Princess Zelda’s true courage and compassion.

In the world of Hyrule, though gamers don’t directly control Zelda, discovering the hidden symbols or hieroglyphs reveals her heart-wrenching journey. These glimpses into her life show Zelda performing one of the bravest acts in any Zelda game: sacrificing herself to save Hyrule. After enduring numerous hardships and terrors, the Master Sword appears in the past along with Zelda, explaining that it needs time to grow strong enough to defeat Ganondorf. It is then that Zelda realizes she’s been sent back in time to safeguard the sword for Link in the future. Despite knowing that this process cannot be reversed, Zelda undergoes draconification to empower the sword with her light powers and watch over it until Link requires it to vanquish Ganondorf – transforming into the Light Dragon that soars above Hyrule’s skies. This selfless act gives the game its name, and has left countless gamers in tears. It stands as a testament to Princess Zelda’s bravery and her unwavering commitment to protecting Hyrule no matter the cost.

1 Link

The Legendary Hero

Bravest Zelda Characters

In the acclaimed series of The Legend of Zelda, Link, our valiant and fearless character, never has one game encapsulate fully his extraordinary bravery. Time and again, this quiet hero bravely confronts danger to shield the world from malevolence, charging headlong against any foes intent on sowing disorder.

In my gaming adventures, I’ve been that fearless protagonist, the one who dared to venture into the unknown. From rescuing my missing sister in the vast seas of The Wind Waker, to saving Termina as the moon plummeted down in Majora’s Mask, I’ve faced great and terrible perils without flinching. My relentless spirit has earned me a legendary status among video game heroes, slaying dragons, lynels, modulgas, giants, wizards, gibdos, and the dreaded Ganon. No character in these fantastical realms has ever stood so valiantly against such fearsome enemies or risked life and limb as often to protect the quirky, diverse people of the countless Zelda games spanning decades. It’s no wonder I’m known as the bravest hero of Hyrule – it’s just another day in my extraordinary life.
