As a seasoned Brawlhalla player with countless hours spent dueling it out across various realms, I can confidently say that the latest Vault Hunters update has been a breath of fresh Pandora air! The addition of iconic characters like Lillith, Krieg, and Tiny Tina as skins for our beloved fighters has not only added a new layer of excitement to the game but also brought back fond memories of my Borderlands adventures.

Since Blue Mammoth Games, the creators of the widely played free-to-play fighter, Brawlhalla, were taken over by Ubisoft in 2018, the game has been regularly teaming up with other franchise titles. Much like numerous live-service games preceding it, Brawlhalla has showcased characters from a diverse range of popular culture sources, including Master Chief from Halo, Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Chun-Li from Street Fighter, and Negan from The Walking Dead. Although Brawlhalla does have its own set of unique characters, it differs from games like Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate and MultiVersus in that collaborations have nonetheless emerged as a significant element of the game.

2024 has been relatively quiet for Brawlhalla in terms of crossovers, with Ubisoft’s 2D platform fighter only collaborating with the Star Wars series so far. Although this collaboration introduced a host of new elements to the game such as maps, emotes, skins, emojis, and avatars, it was somewhat disheartening that no other popular franchises had been incorporated into the game in 2024. Thankfully, Ubisoft addressed this issue earlier this month by releasing the Vault Hunters update, which infused a wide range of content into Brawlhalla inspired by Gearbox’s legendary Borderlands series.

Brawlhalla’s Vault Hunters Event Adds New Borderlands-Themed Content to the Game

Every Borderlands Character in Brawlhalla: Vault Hunters

  • Lillith – Epic Crossover Skin for Reno
  • Tiny Tina – Epic Crossover Skin for Scarlet
  • Krieg – Epic Crossover Skin for Barazza

The Vault Hunters update, unveiled towards the end of July and launched on August 7th, 2024, introduced some fresh cosmetics into the game. Among these, three Epic Crossover characters from Borderlands stood out: Lillith, Tiny Tina, and Krieg. Similar to past partnerships, these Epic Crossover characters aren’t independent Legends or playable fighters; instead, they serve as skins for existing game characters. For example, Lillith is a skin for the gun-wielding, alien bug cowboy character Reno, while Tiny Tina is a cosmetic for the steampunk inventor Scarlet and Krieg is a skin for the heart-of-diesel wastelander, Barraza.

Despite the fact that Epic Crossover characters are essentially just costumes for existing fighters, the skins from the Vault Hunters update do feature some unique skills. Indeed, Lillith, Krieg, and Tiny Tina all have special Signature Attacks that are inspired by their abilities from the Borderlands games. While Lillith can utilize her Phasewalk Action Skill and Firewalk wings in Brawlhalla, Krieg can turn himself into a Psycho Mutant and Tiny Tina can attach explosive dolls and missiles to her weapons.

All The Other Content Added in Brawlhalla: Vault Hunters

Beyond the introduced Epic Crossover characters, Ubisoft incorporated two weapon skins inspired by the Borderlands series into the game, namely the Hyperion Yggdrasil and Poppin’ TNTina. Additionally, the chatty robot Claptrap was added as a new Sidekick in the Vault Hunters update. Moreover, players of Brawlhalla can acquire two new avatars based on the Borderlands franchise, one showcasing Claptrap and the other displaying the emblematic Vault logo.

1. You can attach the Hyperion Yggdrasil skin to any Legend who wields Cannon weapons, and the Poppin’ TNTina skin can be equipped by any Legend using Blaster weapons.

Cost of All Borderlands Cosmetics in Brawlhalla

In keeping with past collaborative events in Brawlhalla, the cosmetics introduced in the Vault Hunters update are not freebies. Instead, gamers need to acquire a unique currency called Mammoth Coins to purchase and utilize any of these items. The Epic Crossover characters lead the pack in terms of expense, each costing 300 Mammoth Coins. The Claptrap Sidekick is the second most expensive item from the Borderlands crossover, priced at 80 Mammoth Coins.

The weapon skins, meanwhile, cost 60 MC each, while the avatars are only 30 MC a piece. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that players cannot purchase any of these cosmetics directly. Rather, they’ll either have to obtain them through the purchasable gold track of each seasonal battle pass or buy them outright in one of the Mammoth Coin bundles available in Brawlhalla‘s online store, the cheapest of which goes for $5.99.
