Brighter Shores: How to Level Up Fast

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that I’ve seen MMORPGs come and go, but none have managed to capture my heart quite like Andrew Gower’s latest creation, “Brighter Shores.” The nostalgic vibe brought back by its old-school charm is reminiscent of the good ol’ days playing Runescape.

The latest MMORPG, “Brighter Shores”, is the creation of Andrew Gower, renowned for his work on Runescape. In this game, you start off as a novice guard in the tranquil town of Hopeport. However, that peace does not last long, as goblins swarm the town, disrupting its serenity.

In Brighter Shores, the goblin raid at the start gives players a taste of what’s to come. However, beware! The narrow lanes of Hopeport and the surrounding wilderness hide numerous perils. To endure against formidable enemies, you must enhance your character by leveling up in our game. Moreover, leveling up is crucial for advancing through the primary storyline. This beginner’s guide offers convenient strategies to help you level up swiftly and effectively in Brighter Shores.

Best Way to Level Up Fast in Brighter Shores

Completing Quests

Advancing through your character in Brighter Shores can be significantly speeded up by completing quests. After successfully finishing the initial tutorial where you save Captain Jal Degreene, Corporal Binns proposes that reaching level 15 is necessary to start archery training, while level 60 is required to proceed with the main storyline. Upon starting out, there will be three quests available for you.

  • The Obelisk
  • The Lost Shipment
  • The Brannof Inheritance

For beginners aiming to level up, completing The Obelisk first is recommended, as it has no requirements. In contrast, The Lost Shipment requires a level 25 in Fishing, and The Brannof Inheritance requires a level 50 in Alchemy and level 61 in Chef. Completing The Obelisk quest rewards 10,600 Guard XP, which can increase a beginner’s Guard level by 10-12. Currently, Brighter Shores is still in early access, so content may expand over time.

Farming Enemies

For newcomers, fighting smaller foes is a dependable method to accumulate Guard XP. These adversaries consistently offer XP and could potentially drop gear and currency. Luckily, the enemies in the game ‘Brighter Shores‘ adjust to your Guard level, so you won’t face harder opponents until it suits you.

Old Street East serves as a decent spot for Experience Point (XP) farming, with Deathcrows acting as your targets. Moving further towards the east, you’ll encounter gangs of goblins near the Town Gates. These types of enemies are relatively easy to overcome and may drop initial equipment to aid in your readiness for upcoming fights. Alternatively, instead of engaging monsters, you can engage sparring guards at the Sparring Area adjacent to the Training Ground.

Leveling Other Professions

To progress effectively in Guard, aim to accumulate XP up to levels 15-20 first. Post that, think about developing Chef and Fishing skills further, with the goal of reaching a total level of 60. All vocations in Brighter Shores are beneficial and worth investing time in, particularly Chef and Fishing for beginners. If you opt for the Fishing path, begin by harvesting Lesser Eels at Eel Street Bridge. Once your inventory is filled with Lesser Eels, make your way south of the street to find a merchant who purchases various types of fish. After selling your catch to this merchant, go back to Eel Street Bridge and continue fishing until you reach your desired level.

In Hopeport, you can advance both Forager and Alchemist vocations as well. With the initial levels becoming more manageable, strive to reach level 20 in the Guard profession and level 10 in the remaining professions to attain a total level of 60, which unlocks the main quest. Nonetheless, if you’d rather concentrate on a specific vocation, feel free to do so. Brighter Shores offers multiple professions to delve into, and progressing in all is not essential for making progress.
