In the world of Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, there’s something for everyone, whether you enjoy collecting or engaging in casual or competitive play. The upcoming expansion, Celestial Guardians, promises to delight both groups equally. From the new Rare Candy card in Pokemon TCG Pocket, which will make Stage 2 creatures more consistent, to cards like Alolan Raichu Ex, the game’s dynamics are set to undergo a significant shift upon the release of Celestial Guardians. However, some cards that are already incredibly powerful may persist in being overpowered even with the arrival of Celestial Guardians, particularly one of the most frequently used Ex Pokemon from Shining Revelry.
Similar to previous releases, Shining Revelry has introduced several strong cards that have been significantly impacting the rankings for the past month. This set has given rise to decks featuring Wugtrio Ex or Dragonite from Genetic Apex, which have posed problems due to their ability to handle opposing benched Pokémon. The use of Giratina Ex and Darkrai Ex, along with wall Pokémon like Druddigon, has made this a challenge. However, it remains to be seen how the meta will evolve with the set. Notably, the new expansion for Pokemon TCG Pocket, Celestial Guardians, promises to enhance one of the current top decks further with Lunala Ex.
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Celestial Guardians is About to Make Psychic Decks Stronger
In the Pokemon TCG Pocket, Giratina Ex decks are incredibly potent as it’s the sole card capable of generating Energy during the initial turn of a game, thanks to Broken-Space Bellow. On the other hand, Lunala Ex, unveiled among the first cards in the Celestial Guardians teaser trailer, is a Stage 2 card that evolves from Cosmog and Cosmoem. It boasts a hefty 180 HP and can dish out 100 damage with an attack requiring three Energy, one of which must be Psychic. However, its most notable feature is the Psychic Connect ability, enabling players to transfer all Psychic Energy from benched Pokemon to the active slot.
How Lunala Ex Combos With Giratina Ex in Pokemon TCG Pocket

This ability is remarkably potent as it allows Psychic Connect to be activated from any position, not just with Lunala Ex in a specific slot. Additionally, it forms an exceptional combination with Giratina Ex since Lunala Ex generates its own Psychic Energy. This means players can reposition all the Psychic Energy available, such as amassing Energy with Giratina Ex and then transferring it to Lunala Ex when evolved for an attack, or moving four Energy onto a Mewtwo Ex to inflict 150 damage.
As an enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating the arrival of Celestial Guardians, as it opens up numerous strategic combinations with Lunala Ex. It’s not far-fetched to imagine that Giratina Ex decks will embrace this newcomer, potentially elevating their performance.
In the realm of Pokemon TCG Pocket, the fresh Alolan Raichu Ex appears to be a formidable check against Giratina Ex or any cards that thrive on bench Energy accumulation, given its Psychic attack dealing 60 base damage plus an additional 30 for each Energy on the opposing active Pokemon. However, Lunala Ex can offer some resistance by manipulating the Energy distribution.
In a Pokemon Trading Card Game scenario, Lunala EX, which needs only one Psychic Energy for its attack, and Giratina EX, which generates its own Psychic Energy, might be utilized together in an unconventional deck like Darkrai EX. The potential influence of Lunala EX on the game isn’t yet clear, but given the strength of Giratina EX, it’s possible that their combination will make it even more potent or consistent. Pokemon TCG Pocket is getting ready to celebrate its six-month anniversary, and with Rayquaza EX already announced, we can expect additional cards to be revealed soon, leading to changes in the meta.
