Bully Online Gets Shutdown A Month After Launch

I was really excited about the new Bully Online mod when it came out, and I managed to try it. Sadly, it looks like it’s been taken down now, which is a bummer!

The Bully Online project has been shut down permanently. This means the online server is no longer accessible, the code used to run it has been removed, and all user accounts and data will be deleted.

The reason for taking it offline wasn’t shared publicly, but Swegta, the YouTuber in charge of the project, said she’ll explain everything more fully in a future video.

“For now though, know this was not something we wanted,” the announcement reads.

Bully Online, announced in October and launched in December, was a modification that let players explore a free-roam world, use custom vehicles, engage in role-playing, and enjoy over 60 mini-games with people globally. Because it was released as an open-source project, anyone with the necessary skills could contribute to and improve it over time.

Sadly for those who were excited, development has been halted and the mod’s website is no longer available.

Okay, so nobody’s really saying why this is happening, which is super frustrating. But honestly, my guess is it has something to do with Rockstar, the people who made the original game. It just feels like it has to be connected to them somehow.

We’ll share more details about why the project ended as soon as we have official information. In the meantime, please share your thoughts on the shutdown of Bully Online in the comments, and join the conversation on the official TopMob Discord server.
