As a long-time fan of Call of Duty, I must say that this year’s Holiday celebration in Black Ops 6 has truly outdone itself. From the festive decorations in Liberty Falls to the Holiday-geared zombies, Treyarch has managed to bring a unique twist to the Zombies mode that long-time fans like myself have grown to love.

Treyarch has given the “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” Zombies map Liberty Falls a festive makeover for the special event mode called Jingle Hells. In a move that surpasses previous installments, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” is embracing the holiday spirit in various creative ways.

In the spirit of holiday celebrations, the latest edition of Call of Duty joins the tradition set by previous games. Players of this series have experienced holiday seasons being incorporated before, such as in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War, and even Modern Warfare Remastered with its Holiday-themed Crash map. Longtime fans will also remember the festive Shipment map. Alterations to classic locations bring a touch of newness to maps players are already acquainted with. This year’s Black Ops 6 has introduced several updates as part of CODMAS 2024, including modifications to Liberty Falls in Jingle Hells.

The official Call of Duty blog has revealed details about CODMAS 2024, such as the special mode Jingle Hells for Zombies’ Liberty Falls map. Similar to the Holiday Nuketown, Liberty Falls is adorned with holiday decorations like wreaths, ribbons, snowmen, colorful lights, Christmas trees, garlands, and snow. The Call of Duty Zombies enemies are also donning seasonal attire, with zombies, Manglers, Parasites, and more all sporting Holiday outfits. A big floating stocking dispenses power-up gifts or summons Vermin, while zombies occasionally drop presents, and the Holiday Cheer Gobblegum can be obtained from Gobblegum Machines. CODMAS 2024 runs until January 3, giving players only two weeks to enjoy the holiday festivities.

What’s Included With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Jingle Hells?

  • Main Quest is Active! The Main Quest is available to complete this time around, with some added challenge now that the Arsenal and Crafting Tables aren’t around. Note: you’ll earn the standard Main Quest completion rewards if you finish the quest in Jingle Hells.
  • Hear that Jingling? Expect bespoke audio to bring the festive flavor. You might want to look to the skies, too…
  • GobbleGum Gifts: This is the best way to earn the “Holiday Cheer” GobbleGum!
  • Snowball Piles: Gather up to five snowballs from various piles scattered about the map, then use them as potent projectiles!
  • Naughty or Nice Power-Up: This large, floating stocking dishes out presents or spawns Vermin, depending on whether you’ve been naughty or nice.
  • Snowmen: Undeniably jolly, but also fiendishly unfriendly, Liberty Falls has snowmen dotted around the map, and these can hide zombies or loot if left intact. It’s wise to make these your primary targets, especially as they drop handy loot when dispatched.
  • Present Boxes: Under certain circumstances, zombies may drop a small present box, which can be opened for a gift that keeps on giving.
  • S.A.M.T.A. Trials: The Trial computers that appear around the map now have a much more festive appearance. S.A.M.T.A. also has a few present boxes spawning nearby the machine when entering the map, so it’s worth seeking out!
  • Frozen Rounds: There’s strange fog in the air, and during certain rounds you’ll be chilled to the bone, slowing your reactions considerably. Perhaps it’s time to head indoors…

Besides Jingle Hells, Black Ops 6 players have several other options for festive fun this Holiday season. GobbleGum Mania, Merry Mayhem, and Archie’s Festival Frenzy events are also available, with the former two playable until December 19, and the latter running from December 19 to January 3. In the shop, players can buy two special Holiday bundles, one of which is Season’s Bleedings that offers two Weapon Blueprints, a Calling Card, an Emblem, an Emote, a Spray, and the Daddy Claus Operator Skin for Toro. For Warzone players, there will be holiday-themed modes like Holiday Rush, Ran-Snack, and Slay Ride Resurgence, along with decorations similar to Black Ops 6’s Nuketown and Liberty Falls.

During the holiday season, many gamers find themselves caught up with family and social gatherings. However, CODMAS 2024 offers a way for them to carry on their celebrations even during their free moments. As Treyarch keeps updating “Black Ops 6”, it seems that this game may continue to host festive seasons in the future.
