This week, fans were given a sneak peek at the multiplayer aspect of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 through a fresh trailer. The video showcased numerous gameplay aspects, such as previews of most of the 16 maps at launch, although the standout feature was the innovative Omnimovement system. At the Call of Duty Next event, fans were given lots of updates about what’s to come, such as additional beta information and content they can explore. A comprehensive blog post provided all the specifics, revealing that six maps will be accessible during this weekend’s initial beta testing phase. Four of these maps are intended for Core activities, which consist of popular modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and a newly introduced mode called Kill Order. Gala and Pit fall under the Strike playlist, which Activision refers to as more compact in size, making it ideal for games like Face Off or 2v2 Gunfight.

Starting August 30, enthusiasts will have the opportunity to delve into the beta version of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6”. This Early Access period extends until September 4. Those who have pre-ordered the game or are Xbox Game Pass subscribers can join in the fun right away. Activision plans to host an open beta during a second weekend, from September 6 through the 9th, allowing everyone to participate. An added incentive is that players can earn rewards for their participation and progression across either weekend. These rewards include nine cosmetic items such as sprays, charms, weapon blueprints, and even an operator skin!
At the Call of Duty: Next event, Activision unveiled a fresh version of the long-standing Nuketown map, a staple in Treyarch games for years. Predictably, this iconic map has undergone significant transformations, with the Black Ops 6 edition being named Sandhouse and categorized as a Strike map due to its compact design. Regrettably, players won’t get a chance to test it during beta weekends; however, it will be included in the lineup of 16 maps on launch day.
