Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Feature Skipping PS4 and Xbox One

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Feature Skipping PS4 and Xbox One

As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty series, I’ve seen my fair share of upgrades and updates over the years. The announcement that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will not include Theater Mode on PS4 and Xbox One is a bit of a letdown. I remember vividly using Theater Mode in the original Black Ops back in 2010, reliving epic moments and learning from my mistakes. It’s a shame that this feature will be exclusive to newer consoles.

It turns out that the Theater Mode feature will not be available for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. In a detailed update on the game’s main modes, it has been clarified what players can anticipate from Zombies, the single-player campaign, as well as the renowned multiplayer mode.

One feature returning from previous Call of Duty games is Theater Mode, which lets players watch gameplay of their matches. Theater Mode was first introduced in the original Black Ops back in 2010, and so it’s fitting that it’s making its return in Black Ops 6 14 years later. However, it’s since been clarified that Theater Mode will be exclusive to the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, skipping PS4 and Xbox One entirely. No explanation was given as to why Black Ops 6 won’t have Theater Mode on PS4 or Xbox One.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on PS4 and Xbox One Won’t Have Theater Mode

As a gamer still holding on to my trusty old PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, I can’t help but feel a tinge of dismay when hearing that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 won’t feature Theater Mode on these platforms. And let me tell you, it’s not just the absence of Theater Mode that’s got many gamers talking; some are even questioning why the game is being released on older consoles at all.

Fans of the Call of Duty series can rest easy knowing they don’t need to fret about the 2025 installment for now. Instead, their attention should be on the upcoming title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, scheduled for release in October this year. This new addition promises a return of the popular round-based Zombies mode, an engaging single-player campaign, and a whopping 16 fresh multiplayer maps at launch. With its potential to be one of the top Call of Duty games in recent years, enthusiasts will just have to wait until October 25th to find out if it truly meets expectations.
